Morgan Schneiderlin | Everton Player

Circumstances are its January, with teams losing players to Acon, hes a proven prem player, with 2 teams wanting him, and will immediately improve the starting lineup of each team. Plus hes 27 so pretty much will be counted as in his prime.

Were in a better situation than them. Their need to buy is greater than our need to sell.
January, I'll grant you. Only Gueye is going to ACON? He's [Schneiderlin] two years removed from what he was and comes with no assurances he is of that level any longer. At prices beyond £20m, both teams can easily look elsewhere, so I'm not sure we hold all the aces.

If we get within a few mill' of what we paid for him, the club have done an excellent piece of business.

They can look elsewhere, but wont get what theyre after, especially for a proven track record for the league. And its not like he was shit, he just wasnt great. But in terms of doing a job, he kinda did that last season. He hasnt played much this season, but will be raring to go.
Hes more a sure thing than buying somebody from abroad to try and settle in to the league. If you are buying in January, you pretty much want some sort of immediate result which is more likely with him than going abroad for a cheaper option.

Were in a better position than the buying clubs.

Never understand why people care about transfer figures tbh. United and Jose don't want him so I'd reject the first bid and accept the second follow up bid...end of!

The numbers don't matter when you are absolutely rolling in cash.

Koeman doesn't seem to love McCarthy. 12M from West Brom for him and 24M to United for Schneiderlin and everyone's happy-ish.

Trust the club to attract criticism for holding out for more money. You've got to laugh at times.
Yeah damned if they do and damned if they don't. Its perfectly understandable that we are holding out for more money since we know that they have the money, its the winter window and we are probably looking to replace him with a new signing.

If there ever was clear indication of a player looking for a move, it's one of these rabies "training alone" social media videos.

Sad really, I think he is a quality player but just doesn't fit what Jose is trying to do. The second we signed Pogba, any little 'in chance' that he had of making the first team in his preferred position evaporated.

Sporting witness report says it could be done by end of the week.

French newspaper L’Equipe believe Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is ‘seduced’ by the idea of reuniting with Ronald Koeman, and therefore much likelier to join Everton over West Brom.

West Brom are said to have already submitted an offer for Schneiderlin of around €21m, which isn’t enough for Manchester United. Tony Pulis may well be left frustrated because if Everton match what Jose Mourinho’s club want then it looks pretty much like that’s where the Frenchman will go

L’Equipe say Schneiderlin is impatient to get his January move sorted and therefore could be making the switch over the next few days.

The French newspaper even believe there could be progress on the potential deal by the weekend, or perhaps by the end of it, feeling the player and Everton would prefer things done by the end of the week.

It’s now down to Everton to come up with an offer which suits Manchester United. West Brom’s hope would be that the Goodison Park club don’t, thereby giving Pulis’ club another go.

There’s also tentative claims of interest from overseas.

Yay.

I'm looking forward to Koeman turning us into a high energy team again. Barkley and Lukaku need to buy into this.

How can he have a medical without a fee agreement? Surely thats never happened before?

They give us 24 million for a player that we do not need. So lets ask them to feck off a lil bit later?
Is the fee confirmed? If so, then we are finally getting good money for players who are not good enough for us but still good enough for the likes of Everton. Think we have been ripped off long enough.

I think this'll turn out a coup for Everton. Shame Schneiderlin didn't work out here though, we were all so excited at the time

Fed up of Everton at this stage so now :), also have the feeling we wont be getting anywhere near 24 million. Plus not like we actively need to sell him now to favour our wage bill or anything like that so I would rather see him still with us as opposed to signing for Everton.

Wouldn't have minded him signing for West Brom quite as much but not for peanuts.

Was pleased when we bought him but he's been a huge let down. Content to just drift through games, he's not done nearly enough.

Sounds like we've got a good deal for what was a flop transfer.

Cannot see the tweets at work. Could anyone write down what it says?

He's having a medical - fee to be agreed but could make his debut vs City.

Good luck to him. I think he's a decent player.

and Everton still yet to agree a fee but Schneiderlin should sign in time to make debut vs City.

Schneiderlin has been very disappointing. I was a believer in his signing but he has never had an exceptional game. A few 7/10 performances, never a game where he totally dominated opposition play makers though. You think of Herrera at Anfield earlier this season, Schneiderlin never hit that level at Old Trafford.

Mitigating circumstances, Van Gaal and all that, but even when he had chances under Mourinho he was good but not great. For all the flack we give Fellaini (and Fellaini should be sold too), Fellaini has had more good games this season than Schneiderlin.

With a fresh start and a manager who knows him, Koeman, Schneiderlin will probably find form again. For the level we are trying to get back to though I doubt he will ever be good enough. I might be wrong, and I hope I am since we are selling him, I doubt Schneiderlin will ever become the kind of player Madrid or Juve want however.

Thanks guys!

Louis van Gaal - the worst manager in the history of United with transfers.

Disappointed it didn't work out for him as I thought he would be a good fit after the form he showed at Southampton. Hopefully we've recouped most of what we paid for him.

I reckon (I said this in Sling Blade's style) he'll be a good player for Everton.

I was excited when we signed him, it will be a disappointment to see him leave. He could have been a better player if he had been used in a better system and/or with better set of players in the midfield. IMO he is a better midfielder than fellani in midfield 3. Good luck for his future with Everton.

This will be another one of those transfers whereby opposition fans ask why we let him go. Similar to Hernandez, Kagawa etc.

But in reality, as good as some players are, when you place them in a Manchester United shirt, they don't perform to the levels that saw them secure a move in the first place. Often because they struggle with the expectancy that comes with playing for Manchester United. I'm at pains to blame Van Gaal or Mourinho, because Schneiderlin had plenty of opportunities, he simply didn't do enough to warrant his place in the first XI on a regular basis.

Schneiderlin will probably do well at Everton - less pressure, fewer competition for places, less scrutiny etc. But that's not to say that in 12 months time we should regret letting him go. Because the levels that we aspire to be at (European champions?) require better, more headstrong individuals than Schneiderlin.

This will likely be the case with Depay too.
