Morgan Schneiderlin | Everton Player

He really shot himself in the foot last season, he saw that Carrick with two ball winners ahead of him was brilliant at the end of 14/15 but went with two dm's the following season. When he signed Schneiderlin and Bastien I thought schneiderlin was gonna be the upgrade on Fellaini and Schweinsteiger was gonna rotate with Carrick but he just had to tweak the formation. Koeman knows how to use him and he is gonna go form a great parnership with Idrissa Gueye
Exactly this.

And quite rightly too, 13 million in today's market is an insult to both the player and the club.

The thing is that the cards are stacked in Everton's favour, because they know United want to sell him and also probably that the player wants to leave. They also know that if he's not sold this January, his price will only go down.

I'd imagine the deal will be done for £16m max.

He can be useful if we don't get the 25m for him. So we should be in no rush to sell.

It looks like both Everton and West Brom are interested so I imagine the amount will be a good deal higher than £16m. I don't think we'll get our money back but my money is on £22m. Looking at the latest Telegraph article posted above it looks like £19m has been rejected.

Hopefully will Depay leaving also we'll recoup around £40m.

Nice to see we're not going to let clubs take the piss when trying to buy our players.

They can't be that far off, surely? We got him for £24m.

It is all good holding out as long as we know what we are doing.

Otherwise we would be left with a player we don't tend to use and have to flog him cheap next season anyway.

They're desperate and other clubs are openly interested. They'll pay up what we want eventually.

Gueye is leaving for AFCON and with McCarthy and Besic injured, they will be desperate, so I don't see why we couldn't get the £24m we paid him.

Sums of £30 million getting doled out for Bolassie and Benteke. We are more than entitled to seek a decent fee.

Sell him to Everton in time for the City match Jose.
You're missing a trick there buddy

But he's not as tall and height seems to be a key aspect for a Mourinho midfielder.

That's nonsense.

Makelele, Modric, Lampard, Essien, Fabregas and Cambiasso were hardly giants.

He's just not been good enough and I was his biggest fan when he arrived.

Soccer Saturday showed some of his Southampton best bits, shame he wants to leave

I'b be glad if our days of bending over and accepting paltry sums for players are over with Jose commanding the right value in every sale. Schneiderlin is a proven PL midfielder in his physical prime, who can add solidarity to a mid-table team. He should not lose much value from when we bought him.

Yeah, Hererra's a veritable man-mountain too.

Just hope we strong arm Everton into taking Depay at the same time.

Surely if he goes it'll mean Schweinstegier is staying until the summer, would be crazy to let them both leave now.

We're not desperate to sell. In fact, Schneiderlin would offer us good squad depth if he stays. BFS has proven your United career is never over as long as you're in and around the squad.

I hope we put out a statement saying Everton's offer was "derisory and insulting".

It's about time we stood up and demanded top fees for our top tier players.

19 mil is enough you'd imagine. How many installments over how long is probably the real issue.

I'm really surprised if Man Utd have rejected £19m.

I'd rather sell him abroad because our past players keep playing well against us

Was very excited when he joined. Shame it hasn't worked out with him

Im fairly sure he is taller than Herrera

It was just a little joke (pun intended). But there has to be some correlation between Fellaini's playing time and his height. I remember Mourinho raving about Matic when Chelsea resigned him and said how if he was in charge when Matic initially left, he'd have never let it happen. The exact quotes are: “If I was here, a left-footed player – 1.95m tall, a midfielder – would never, never, never leave. Never.”

In the beginning of the season, he started with a midfield of Pogba and Fellaini and only after we really started struggling did he start playing Carrick and Herrera. Schneiderlin didn't really take his chances in the 238 minutes he's played this season, while Herrera did, which is why he's had a prolonged spell in the side at the expense of Morgan. However, that still doesn't explain why Fellaini is preferred to Schneiderlin and arguably it's Fellaini's aerial ability due to his superior height that Mourinho values over anything Schneiderlin offers.
