Morgan Schneiderlin | Everton Player

I'm so disappointed he didn't work out, I was thrilled when we signed him. Some players just don't have the mentality to succeed at the top, I guess.

I don't think we can just blame it on not being able to cut it at a big club, talking with some Southampton fans it feels like he was doomed to fail from the start. We bought him to be this midfield destroyer and that wasn't who he was. He was never able to establish himself over a long period of games. At one point last season statistically United were a more successful side with him in it IIRC.

Talking to the wrong fans then

Schneiderlin was the player to break up play, he won the ball more than Wanyama and sat deepest before they signed Wanyama. However he was never Claude Makelele and his best season came when he had other players holding too, so he was able to go up and down the pitch.

To be honest he never looked the same after the chain of incidents that befell him last October-November. First his Grandfather, to whom he was close apparently, died, then there was the bomb incident at the SDF in November and then the niggling hip flexor injury. These things plus the rise of Kanté and Dechamp's obsession with Diarra cost him his place in the French side and then it all seemed to just go haywire for him afterwards. Said at the time he needed to go elsewhere and start over. Seems it's going to be that way now but he needed to go in the summer. Mourinho never had any need of him even if he said he did. Type of player who needs to play all of the time to be at his finest.

Try and get Barkley swapped with Morgan and Memphis the other way?

Are you sure about that?
It appears I am wrong. He still scored in the Quarters and Semis though. Which is a big contribution considering we only won both matches by 1 goal. Plus, he gave the lay off to Mata's goal in the final and overall put in a good shift.

I'd probably say he was our most influential player in the campaign.

Except Mata scored more including the actual equaliser in the final, and Martial got us the replay against West Ham and the injury time winner in the semi-final. Yet apparantly we should build a statue of Fellaini for his contribution and he won us the Cup.

Fellaini brought the ball down for Mata's goal.

Either way, he was a big reason we won it and booing him is out of order. He done more for United than Schneiderlin.

Morgan and Bastian are a goner and Fellaini look set to join them in the summer. If the former leave in January do you think we'll add an extra CM?

Between them, Morgan and Bastian have barely any minutes at all this season (Bastian has none and Morgan is probably in the low double-digits cumulatively. I'm not checking, this is just what I recollect). As such, not sure we would need a replacement per se. We already have a decent bunch in midfield - and don't forget that Blind could easily slot into a CM spot. He has so much vision that I'd pick him over these two anyway. If we don't sell Fellaini, we'd still have enough to get us through anything barring a crisis (and Mourinho teams - touchwood - generally don't face those). All this is without even thinking of any of the kids / reserves.

All said and done therefore, I see no need to replace these two if we sell them. Maybe if we also sell Fellaini, Mou would be tempted to buy - depending on how the kids are doing...

The good thing is that several clubs are interested. That means we'll most likely get a decent fee for once.

Even if he and Bastian leave, I doubt we'll get a new player in in January. Personally, I'd rather give TFM game time anyways

What's going on with this supposed double transfer of Schneiderlin and Depay (to Everton)? All quiet?

Annoys me to no end that clubs like WBA comes in with offers like that. Clubs in the PL are loaded and he would instantly be one of their best players, yet they try to feck around.

Hope we tell that scruffy Strongbow mascot Pulis to do one.

Remember when people were saying he was a better player than Kante even last season.

Shame he's not worked out for us like. Around 16-18 million price would be fair I think considering he's dropped off the radar.

Come on Chinese clubs, come in with some bids please. A nice 50m for Schneiderlin will do just fine.

WTF £13m. I'm worth that. 20m minimum.

Scheinderlin is an awful player. He isn't worth 5m IMO but considering his over hyped reputation before we signed him your 20m valuation sounds about right.

Don't see what the issue is, they bid £13 million and we said no, hardly a problem, at least it sets a marker for higher bids, if we can get £20 million or so then it's job done, also mustn't forget the wages he will be on will devalue him.

A widely publicised bid of 13 million doesn't help at all. It suggests that his value is in that ballpark, which it clearly is not.

Let's not forget crap like Borini went for £10 mil. Can easily get £20 million for Schneiderlin

If the tables were reversed and we went in for Scheniderlin in January, West Brom would ask 30M off us. feck them and their tight cnuts, they can settle for that inbred Claudio Yacob if that's all they got to spare. We already did them a favor by selling Evans and Fletch for cheap.

Agreed 100%

I mean, this is the same club that rejected a £20 million+ bid for outcast Berahino.

They need to pay up or feck off.

Don't agree, it just tells other clubs that £13 m is too low, but we have to be realistic, if we can get near £20 m then we'll have done ok, he'll be in big wages.

Despite the freakout by some on here. It is what I expected to happen, WBA was too low and probably just a feeler bid at best.

Indeed.
That's just the opening bid, before the transfer window opens.
I'd be interested to see their bid, in late January. By then, it'll probably reach around £25M.

He really shot himself in the foot last season, he saw that Carrick with two ball winners ahead of him was brilliant at the end of 14/15 but went with two dm's the following season. When he signed Schneiderlin and Bastien I thought schneiderlin was gonna be the upgrade on Fellaini and Schweinsteiger was gonna rotate with Carrick but he just had to tweak the formation. Koeman knows how to use him and he is gonna go form a great parnership with Idrissa Gueye
