So are we believing he's ill then?

I'm not buying that for a second ill on the first day of training? Could be possible but my immediate thoughts were he's maybe getting a medical and will be done shortly.

This was my thought too, announcement this afternoon :D *wishful thinking*
Not sure about today, but I think it'll be done this week for sure. If it hasn't been done this week, then we have definitely moved on from him and are after other targets IMO.

Not too ill though, as he's going on pre-season training tomorrow.

Expect it to be done in the next couple of days. Doubt he will go on the tour with them.

All depends on if he travels tomorrow I guess, still think something may get announced tonight or tomorrow morning. If the squad are filmed travelling from the airport with no Morgan, questions and speculation will be intense.

That was pretty encouraging.Schniederlin is appartantly ill and hasn't trained.Koeman says we will see what happens in the next few days.

No contact for the last 2 weeks isn't as encouraging, but it could be a scenario where Southhamton are aware a improved bid is imminent but technically there has been no contact as of yet.

For feck sake, get a move on Woody..

The 'imposters' will be turning up at Southampton soon.

This all feels a little Ander Herrera summer 2013...

I can see this being done before he goes on tour but I wouldn't totally bank on it.

We should offer them someone like Ben Pearson for a season-long role as well - he's bound to end up a £20m player by the end of the season with Soton's record on young players - win/win

We know for certain we are in for him, pay the fecking money Ed. It can't be more than £25m for him. Be a shame if we are scrimping for a million or two. We have a US tour coming up and more importantly a CL qualifier, I really want our potentially new players integrated in to our team before the start of the season. First time this window I've got frustrated, Schneiderlin is what we need. Get the finger out Woodward and get it done #FreeMorgan

To me this is the key info. Clearly Morgan wants to move. And clearly Koeman knows we're coming back with another bid, most likely after we've negotiated it with Saints. As Koeman says, he's not involved in that part and hence 'let's see what happens'

It's ON

"Missed training because of illness." Yeah right. It's so MorgON

Exactly. If they want 30+ million for him then we are right to think twice and make them sweat.
This. Morgan is an experienced premier league player. I don't think it's too much of an issue if he joins up with the squad more tour

On a plus note, if we're struggling to meet Southampton's demands then there's absolutely no chance of Arsenal stealing him away. They'll never outbid us for a player.

Looks like this one won't be done anytime soon.

Why would we even bid £20m when we knew very well they wanted more than that? It's not like they're desperate to sell him or anything. Can't be for bargaining resons either, in that case it would have been better to just bid 25, and say that's our final offer.

The only good reason for bidding so low, would be if we have already agreed personal terms with him.

We are blatantly haggling over a couple of million. Great if it works out but there will be uproar if we lose out.

Probably the most likely scenario is that LvG's first choice is Schweinstieger and will only go for Schneiderlin if the German is unavailable. What other reason can there be for United not putting in another more realistic bid?

We are in a strong position here a d we should hardball about the few million difference. That's not always a good idea but you have to when you hold strong cards.

He wants come here.

Which I just don't understand. We're happy to let players leave for whatever fee the buyer fancies, but when it comes to vital new recruits we act like every penny counts.

Club is, as ever, in a catch 22 situation. Pay a decent sum and the "we're always paying over the odds" brigade are out in force.

No one knows that the amount we bid was £20m. Also, no one knows what's their asking price anyway.
