This for me is a little underwhelming, to be perfectly honest. Definitely worth buying though. However, if we do sign him and Arsenal managed to sign someone better, such as Vidal, we would fall further behind them. In my opinion, of course.
Why is it underwhelming?
Vidal and Schneiderlin dont play same positions, we need Schneiderlin, Arsenal doesnt need Vidal as much.

He is one of the best in the world. He would improve them immensely.

I just used him as an example.

I'd have to agree with Mali_Zeus I'm afraid, Vidal is an excellent player I would agree but Arsenal are filled chock'a'block with midfielder's who already want to play that position, where as we look utterly woeful without Carrick sitting infront of our back four, similarly despite Chelsea's CB's looking good all season, they did appear vulneralbe without Matic sitting infront of them, Schneiderlin could really improve us dramatically if we use him correctly.

Theres a video of a ramos own goal been posted in the ramos thread, its the last 16 (i think) of the champions league and we have tom cleverley in midfield, tom effing cleverley!!!!

Cant believe people are questioning this signing, he'd be a monster for us

Cleverley starting against Real Madrid, I forgot about that

Fergie truly was a genius.

Heh, remember Jones fecked Ronaldo about so much he had to swap wings?

Sadly once he pitched up on the other wing he instantly bossed Evra and scored. Sigh...
To be fair, we were a man down and couldn't get the ball back to save our lives

I dont see how when Schneiderlin is the one that would give them what they need, whereas Vidal would give them what they already have. Same goes for looking to the future when Carrick is no longer playing, Vidal isnt going to help

Why do United carry out transfers so painfully slow?! According to Koeman yesterday, a bid hasn't even been put in as yet. What exactly is Woody doing ffs!

"We have the situation with Morgan Schneiderlin, we will have to wait what will happen. Until now, we have not a serious bid for him from Man United.

We will wait, but OK – that’s business that normally starts from now. It’s no problem – it’s the first day.

"We have the experience from last season – it will be not the same this season, but we are prepared for everything. I am looking forward for another good season."

I dont think we're particularly slow compared to other clubs on the whole (Moyes summer being an exception of course :nervous:), it just seems a lot slower as we spend all day every day constantly analyzing our own pending transfers, whilst ignoring those of other clubs until they actually happen. Look at the Cech to Arsenal transfer for example. There's been rumours of it milling around for a month or two, there were reports out 2 weeks ago that he'd signed a £10M deal, Cech himself came out and said nothing had happened, then finally yesterday it actually went through.

The key words for me are "until now"

The key words for me are none of them, because what a manager admits in a press conference can be a long way from the truth.

Regardless, a bid isn't always the first stage of the process. All the articles on this say terms agreed already, medical soon, deal finalised before end of week. If accurate, that would mean the final "serious bid" could be sorted later on, so Koeman may be technically accurate.

No different to Schneiderlin situation, there have been rumours about our deal with him for a while now, Canal + breaking the news first few weeks back.

What did you expect Koeman to say - "yeah, United had a bid, we accepted it, Schneiderlin is a United player, good luck to him" - all that while negotiations are going on.

Stop being a party pooper.

Pretty much yeah. Mour did it with Matta.

He only mentioned it when Mata was literally already travelling on the way up for the medical through right?
No, Matta didn't travel to United then for a good few days iirc?

I was a bit wrong, he medical may have already happened when Mourinho mentioned it. This was his quote:

"Things are going in a good direction. We allowed Juan to travel and have a medical and I think sooner rather than later things will be finalised.

I was a bit wrong, seems the medical had already happened when Mourinho mentioned it. This was his quote:
The medical hadn't happened. Mata didn't travel down to United until a few days after.

Yeah you're right, just checked on the BBC. Mou mentioned it on the 24th and Mata had his helicopter flight and medical on the 25th. The deal was done pending the medical happening though, which is why Mourinho mentioned it, whilst any deal with Schneiderlin clearly isn't at that stage yet so Koemon isn't going to talk as if it is.

Yes, or something along those lines.

I'm not sure why people think this type of response is rare. Directors and managers from multiple clubs have come out and spoken about transfers before.

But it doesn't seem like they have accepted a bid yet so....

In much the same way that Koeman did. They're obviously still negotiating a fee but he basically confirmed we're trying to sign him.
