Luckily for them we'll fund the deal.

Money is Money.

They need money for a position or type of player we don’t need currently according to Ten Hag’s tactics. Whilst someone will be funding our money for the player of a position we deem worth investing in.

He is currently the hyped player among the United fan base - so it’s looking like we are giving Chelsea the money to the player the fans believe will make us better whilst it’s not what Ten Hag seems to think thus far.

It’s not a ‘great’ deal like activating Kim Min Jae’s release clause - it’s what’s looking like a standard price for a good to great CDM/CM which is around the 80-100mil mark.

It’s worth it for certain players that certain people want and it’s overpriced for players that people don’t rate.

It’s all just an opinion- but the money is the same and it’s ultimately crazy money.

I agree, I find it funny seeing all those - we'll fund their deal posts.

Who do you think we will sell to fund Mount deal? Genuine question not a pissy reply.

I have very little faith, as is the case every summer that we will sell anyone of note. We could sell Henderson, Bailly, Telles and Williams and I doubt that would pay for Mount. Can’t see us letting McTominay and Maguire go although they would probably help us the most financially - we’ll be told they are important squad players when so clearly they are not.

I’m just very interested in what we do and unfortunately I can’t see anything but a very mediocre window with how we are and the sale/part sale saga taking the piss.

We already offered 40m and got rejected and every outlet reports that Chelsea wants 70m and we are willing to go up to 60m. And we are United, we don't get good deals.

As far as the "pressing 8" problem, Caicedo definitely CAN press in the offensive third if that's what he's set out to do. He's a very versatile footballer and actually plays as a midfielder well as opposed to Mount who's never played well in a midfield 3. Look, I've already said that if Mount was on a cheap deal I'd be fine with it. But making him a signature cornerstone signing for big money is just idiotic given what he brings to the table and his current value if you can go get a player with higher prospects for a bit more money that ALSO solves the problems of who the feck plays DM if our 31 year old isn't available for a single game. It's inarguable that we were basically mid table level without Casemiro this year and we still don't have a single replacement. So yeah grabbing the best possible young player available that can play the position as well as play more offensively next to him is what I prefer.

You’ve got to listen to the journalists. The terms for Mount will be a lot more favourable than the terms for Caicedo. Chelsea know they have to sell whilst Brighton are just willing sellers. They’ve already been short changed with Mac Allister so whoever is getting Caicedo will have to be paying a large sum upfront which is why the interest is minimal.

See it this way we offered £40m for Mount which we probably told Chelsea we will give £25m upfront. The terms talked about with Caicedo are more we want £70m upfront. There is a huge difference there and again our reported cash budget is £100 to £150n with a potential Kim Min Jae release clause which has to be paid in full with no instalments. So Caicedo is a shite deal to us especially with it not being a key position for the manager.

They can’t sign him until they sell Mount anyway.
We could, nothing stopping us, really

Signing Caicedo before June 30 i believe would go on this current seasons FFP books, so I'd wager any deal for him happens after July 1st "officially". Hence why we are trying to offload a few before the 30th. After July 1st, you'll probably see our owners burning through cash again

Yeah but you have to balance the current books before you are free to burn through cash on the 1st.

I might be wrong but there’s a good £100m that’s needs to come in.

I love Caicedo but whilst the others squabble over him, with one of them ending up paying at least £90m, I don’t understand why we don’t just swoop in for Lavia for probably 40% of the price.

Get Lavia and Mount done for the same price and the squad will be better for it.

If he's not going to United then I'm glad he's going to Chelsea and not City, Liverpool or Arsenal. Chelsea under Boehly are basically just Everton under Moshiri.

That depends entirely on Pochettino and his staff.

Theoretically, he should have them challenging for the league, if he's given a top striker.

Chelsea are a good 6 years off challenging for a league. The club structure is a shambles after Roman.

If they make top 4 next season who will be missing out?

A good or great coach and coaching staff, with a full pre-season to work with the squad should be challenging for the league, provided they’re given better goal scorers this window.

It’s not that simple. This league isn’t as easy as Serie A or La Liga. You have too many teams to climb over.

They won’t be challenging not from the mess they created last season. It’s 6 years work. Believe me. We are 10 years and counting.

We don't seem remotely interested in either

That’s a ‘let’s talk about Colwill or else’ price. Not a serious fee at all.
Colwill would help, but Brighton are using Rice and Enzo as benchmark prices.

We have a habit of not budging on price while you have a habit of paying huge fees!

are caicedo and mcalister on different lengths of contracts hence the massive disparity in pricing?

We’ll see but I doubt he’ll go for that much. Bloom has every right to demand such a ridiculous fee but feels like it’s a Chelsea specific price. Would prefer to walk away if that is genuinely the demand.

Well, you are asking 70m for Mount. So how exactly does it work ?

God I hope you do, I'd love to hang onto him for one more season

Mount will end up going for less than £60m I think. My guess is around the £55m mark or £50m plus add ons. I think Chelsea are flexible with this price and will end up caving and reducing the fee but Brighton @The Boy says have a history of not budging from their valuation.

Isn’t there some kind of agreement between Caicedo and Brighton that he will be allowed to leave this summer? He should have gotten that promise in writing, if he hasn’t.

Look you will get him don't worry

Apparently according to Andy Naylor, they did agree to let him go this summer, but at the right price and as we showed with Cucurella and White, we're very happy to hold out for that price. And the fees bandied around for Rice and the money you spent on Enzo, we've used that to set our price, in my mind quite fairly though maybe not in other's opinions!

The deal Brighton seemed to have with Mac Allister, which they keep saying wasn't a release clause (but no one seems to know the exact details of it, bar that the club had a say as well) was extremely unusual for us and by the looks of it Caicedo does not have the same agreement.

Caicedo would also end up at 80m, I guess. 80 + add ons. They sold Cucu at 60 .

Personally, I don't think he is worth that money. You will get much better options outside of PL for half the money.

Yep if this agreement for him to leave this summer is real, you’d think in his new contract they’d have mutually agreed a release clause for his departure. Keep it simple.

Rinds me of Harry Kane’s situation.

£150 million for 10 years is A BARGAIN SALE if Cicedo wants to go for next season?
