Gaming Modern Warfare 2

they've released the update just now, downloaded that, but still cant play a game :mad:

seems to be working now, just went 36-1 on my first game
 
modern warfare 2 players are experiencing further problems online after microsoft released a 'fix' for infinity ward's stimulus map pack.

Matchmaking has been worst affected area, according to microsoft.

Ms' xbox live editor daniel maher just tweeted: 'yes, matchmaking is in a bad state on xbox live right now. We're working on it and will resolve it as quickly as we can.'

one gamer typified the problems faced by gamers on an external forum. They wrote:

'so i'm waiting all frickin day for the dlc to get upped then when it finally does it doesn't work properly. First the dlc was available but none of the new maps worked (which was quite funny because there were lobbies full of people just slagging off iw), then after an update about an hour later -nothing works! Now i cant play mw2 online at all. What an anticlimax.'

activision released the stimulus map pack earlier today, but problems soon became apparent.

Microsoft then claimed it had fixed the issue - but it seems it isn't out of the woods yet.

The firm initially expected the fix to 'take hours'.

Exactly, we're just getting some payback for the abuse sent our way when this happened. At least we don't pay 40 quid a year though. ;)
 
Pisses me off how i shell out for a game and then to keep playing it i've gotta shell out again!

1st time Ive downloaded an extra pack, if i new that 2 of the five were from another game which i already have i wouldn't have bothered :o, getting pissed of with xbox its breaking down again and takes for ever to load games - ps3 here i come

I probably won't go for it mind. I don't play it often enough.
 
Is anyone else having frequent issues with host migration and connection to servers timing out? I've had so many games just crash on me recently it's been driving me mad.

PS3 by the way.
 
I can't join any servers. The only way I can get into any games is by joining a friends session. WTF!

I've had the issue since Wednesday, when i downloaded the map packs. fecking infuriating.
 
i dont seem to be having any trouble finding games. I wouldnt mind them adding more of the call of duty 4 maps to MW2, like ambush. Managed to get 125 kills in one game today and got 45,000 xp points in that one match.

Yes I've had it happen to me many times too. About 5 times today alone!:mad:

Oh and I'm also sick of being put into games midway through on a regular basis. Has anyone else had that and is it just mainly a problem for the PS3?
 
Yea I've had that too, joined one today just in time for the score board at the end. Most annoying.
 
I'm going to play through the campaign again, feel like shooting something.
 
i've been able to connect to games fine

problem is i'm getting my ass kicked on the new maps
 
Are there any shit players on here as well or is every single one of you just totally awesome, gets hundreds of kills and permanently drops nukes?? How about this, I started the airport game, got killed 5 times from behind before making my first kill, then a one of the bastards stole my Pavelo crate and i finished the game with five kills and 12 deaths. Has that ever happened to anyone before?

It has to me. The ones that get ridiculous things like Nukes on a regular basis usually play the game to an extent where they probably lack any sort of social life.

Yeah I have games like that. Im pretty inconsistant. Sometimes I am on fire and rack up great scores and sometimes I am shite
