That couldn't have been any easier for the ref to spot. Ref should not be anywhere near the CL again.
Yeah you do that. Not sure about that clip. The defender doesn't seem too upset by the challenge and Salah was going for the ball at first imo but the defender took it away and therefore got a hit. I will have to see another angle
Looks nasty, that video. That was in Porto's box?
Not even a yellow. How does it work in CL, does things like this get reviewed?Did he even get booked or did the referee miss it completely?
If the referee missed it then there's a possibility it gets reviewed.
In other news, the moon is made of cheese...
Force or no force you dont do that, clear, clear red. After seeing the video I'm not so sure it was a red. He didn't really use any force in the challenge and almost pulled out of it to be fair.
Don't think it is personally.Force or no force you dont do that, clear, clear red.

Fame has hit his head so to speak. (is that even an expression? )The match officials missed Salah's very clear and intentional stamp, so retrospective action can be taken in this case.
He's been getting away with murder for long enough, it's high time he got called on his antics.
Don't think it is personally.
A red card would be shown if he used excessive force. He didn't.He entered the challenge with his studs showing and aimed directly at his opponents ankle - a potential leg breaker.
There was clearly malice in the challenge.

I don't like Salah as much as anyone but that's not a red card for me. I think it's also why the ref/VSR didn't give it.
Don't think it's anything more than him just dangling a leg at the defender. Showed his studs but was in no danger of hurting him. But yeah, that's my opinion and you're welcome to yours too.I'm shocked you don't see that as a red card to be honest mate.
You're welcome to your opinion, though
No different than pogbas against arsenal last season. Not necessarily deliberate, but a red by the ruleIt's clearly just a mistimed intervention which has bad consequences. Could have been a red, but for anyone to suggest it was intentionally is just stupid.
great response
It doesnt matter, when you show studs like that it's a red.See, that picture just makes it look so much worse than it actually was. All his weight was on his standing foot and carried no momentum/force into the challenge. Bit cnutish from salah but it wasn't a dangerous tackle.
Not true obviously. It doesnt matter, when you show studs like that it's a red.
Yeah no. Not really. Not true obviously.
The rule for a serious foul play, which is what it would come under specifically mentions 'excessive force' and 'endangering an opponent'
Salah's challenge was neither by the letter of the law.
He’s in bad form, 2 goals and 1 assist in his past 13 games.
Great response. Cant be explained to you any clearer than I just have.Yeah no. Not really.
Think he's actually showing his real level. Last season was a perfect storm for him. He’s in bad form, 2 goals and 1 assist in his past 13 games.
Liverpool supporting friends have suggested that his ego seems to have taken over from the apparent ‘humble’ act of his breakout season last year.
Yes I agree. I'm surprised not many people have said this. He is putting himself and his goalscoring records before the team.

That's why he didn't get sent off.
