Mo Salah

That couldn't have been any easier for the ref to spot. Ref should not be anywhere near the CL again.

Not sure about that clip. The defender doesn't seem too upset by the challenge and Salah was going for the ball at first imo but the defender took it away and therefore got a hit. I will have to see another angle

Yeah you do that.
See it from another angle.

Did he even get booked or did the referee miss it completely?

If the referee missed it then there's a possibility it gets reviewed.

In other news, the moon is made of cheese...

Not even a yellow. How does it work in CL, does things like this get reviewed?

After seeing the video I'm not so sure it was a red. He didn't really use any force in the challenge and almost pulled out of it to be fair.

The match officials missed Salah's very clear and intentional stamp, so retrospective action can be taken in this case.

He's been getting away with murder for long enough, it's high time he got called on his antics.

Fame has hit his head so to speak. (is that even an expression? :D )

It will be interesting if the English media will pick up this story or brush it under the carpet

He entered the challenge with his studs showing and aimed directly at his opponents ankle - a potential leg breaker.

There was clearly malice in the challenge.
A red card would be shown if he used excessive force. He didn't.

I don't like Salah as much as anyone but that's not a red card for me. I think it's also why the ref/VAR didn't give it.

I'm shocked you don't see that as a red card to be honest mate.

You're welcome to your opinion, though :)

It's clearly just a mistimed intervention which has bad consequences. Could have been a red, but for anyone to suggest it was intentionally is just stupid.

His sassy thing with his sleeves pisses me off more than it should.

Don't think it's anything more than him just dangling a leg at the defender. Showed his studs but was in no danger of hurting him. But yeah, that's my opinion and you're welcome to yours too.

No different than pogbas against arsenal last season. Not necessarily deliberate, but a red by the rule

great response

See, that picture just makes it look so much worse than it actually was. All his weight was on his standing foot and carried no momentum/force into the challenge. Bit cnutish from salah but it wasn't a dangerous tackle.

It doesnt matter, when you show studs like that it's a red.

He meant that too...disgusting challenge

And he's the one crying when he hurt his little shoulder last season and he goes and tries to break a player's leg. Hypocrite

Not true obviously.

The rule for serious foul play, which is what it would come under, specifically mentions 'excessive force' and 'endangering an opponent'

Salah's challenge was neither by the letter of the law.

Yeah no. Not really.

He’s in bad form, 2 goals and 1 assist in his past 13 games.

He has been playing so poorly and everyone conveniently ignores it. Playing poorly is one thing but he's so annoyingly selfish. He takes too long on the ball trying to create chances for himself or to get a shot off when there are other players in better positions and then blames everyone but himself.

Surprised Klopp is sticking with this as it seems the opposite to a Klopp type player.

Also his comments like "Aguero is having a fantastic season even though he scored 1 more goal" and "Henderson finally scored after 30 games" were really cringey and shows it's severely affecting him. He needs to sort himself out.

Salah played way more games than Aguero this season and Henderson is playing a DM role there FFS...wtf?

Liverpool supporting friends have suggested that his ego seems to have taken over from the apparent ‘humble’ act of his breakout season last year.

My own cod psychology would posit that he’s not taking the plaudits for VVD, Mane, TAA, Robertson this season as a good teammate should and is sulking much like a 5 year old would.

Yes I agree. I'm surprised not many people have said this. He is putting himself and his goalscoring records before the team.

Meanwhile, Mane comes from a season overshadowed & hasn't changed a bit. No wonder he's the one Real are always linked with instead of Salah.

Great response. Cant be explained to you any clearer than I just have.

That's why he didn't get sent off.

Going in studs showing with your foot raised some 12 inches off the ground is reckless endangerment.

If the challenge gets reviewed, there is every chance Salah will receive retrospective punishment.
