How's he getting on? Signed from City and was scoring a bucketload of goals when I last heard.

Is Savage in this line up the son of Robbie Savage?

Full game vs LA Galaxy can be found here:

These US academies seem to have much better technical and tactical coaching at the younger age groups. We don't seem to have any likewise mantra on how to play at this level other than mostly playing long balls forward (albeit in this match the LA players are clearly more physically developed also).

We seem to only provide more team based coaching on how to hold possession and how to press effectively at older age groups in the academy.
This model seems to work for us at the moment anyway!

Nolan opened the scoring 1-0 with a shot from outside of the box.

Wheatley made 2-0 from a long ball from Nolan.

3-0 Nolan beats 2 players and did a good volley that was out of their GK's reach.

4-0 Missin taps in after a good run from Leader-Williams from the left.

5-0 nice solo run and finish from Max Buffonge.

6-0 easy finish from Fitzgerald from Leader-Williams assist.

8-0 Fitzgerald scored from close range from Berry's lob (missed the 7th goal).

9-0 another close range goal from Fitzgerald.

FT: 9-0 (Nolan x2, Wheatley, Missin, Buffonge, Fitzgerald x4). Berry hits the post twice.

Manchester United Under-18s defenders Jake Barrett and Harry Spratt have been released, in order to join Huddersfield Town.

Barrett scored a last-minute equaliser against Sunderland in the Academy league last season and played seven times in all for Kieran McKenna's team in 2016/17. The 18-year-old centre-back has made six appearances this term for the title-chasing Reds.

Following a trial at Burnley last month, he has linked up with Huddersfield, his hometown club, and made his debut at right-back over the Easter weekend in the Under-19 Champions Trophy in Germany.

Leeds-born Spratt, 18, had nine outings for the Under-18s last season, two as a starter, and has overcome an injury lay-off to earn a switch to his native west Yorkshire.

United would like to wish both Jake and Harry every success for the future.

Max Johnstone recently released by United, mentioned towards the end of an article on Sam Johnstone in the Guardian. Perhaps not a great surprise given Max barely played for the U23s or the U18s.

Our whole strategy on keepers is bizarre to say the least. It is as though we are preparing them to be a substitute keeper or even 3rd choice, rather than developing them as genuine players, either for United, or far more likely, for another team. O'Hara is the only one at U23 level to have got a reasonable amount of playing time.

Joel Pereira - an unimpressive 12 mins for the first team against Burton, and 2 starts for U23s.

Theo Richardson - 3 starts for the U23s, conceding 10 goals. Most games an unused sub for U23s. And one start for the U18s.

Moutha-Sebtaoui - 2 starts for U19s.

It's been the same for years...

Funny thing is that Manchester United U18 could win the title in Manchester derby tomorrow :lol:

I remember there being fuss because there wouldn't be a north/south final but I may be incorrect
I remember being pissed about them getting rid of the elite stage at the end, which I still think is stupid. But I read posts about a north/south final but then couldn't find anything official about it so wasn't sure.

They got rid of the elite group stage but there is still a National final in May
