Miralem Pjanic

Not to sound the slabber but raved about for ages when people though he was a sole 10.

Supposely no chance of getting him for less than serious change.

Pjanic is a very good player. Therefore he can be ruled out. The only realistic transfer targets are average players

Going to be honest, as great as he was, that wasn't anywhere near his best for us IMO. He looked a understandably more cautious then usual with his dribbling, or at least in the first half. Still a brilliant game for him but that just shows how good he is normally for us. Been saying it for a while now too that he's not a #10, he plays as part of a midfield 3 in Roma but can play the deeper role without a problem.

He's not going anywhere this summer though, signed a new contract right when the season ended. Though I think it had a 30m release clause and IMO he's worth even more then that.

I don't watch Roma much, but everytime I did, Pjanic always seemed to be the more attacking of midfielders, where he could create, with De Rossi sitting deep, and Strootman playing the box to box role.
 
He's not only technically superb, his awareness and ability to find space to receive the ball is first class.
 
First time I've seen him play. He's superb. Best midfield performance I've seen so far in the world cup.

I thought he loves Roma? Basically another Totti or more De Rossi in that he'll end have endless speculation but doesn't really want to leave.

I hadn't read anything about him feeling that way about Roma, I mean he isn't a product of them like Totti and De Rossi, he came from Lyon
 
Was outstanding tonight, I was shitting it every time he got on the ball.
 
Don't have access to Serie A, but watching him this World Cup, he is a silky smooth, clever player that keeps his cool but still tends to be urgent and positive in his play

Bosnia is a nice story, and he has been incredibly entertaining to watch. Players like him, the way he plays, it's the reason I watch football. Just to be in awe of the little things he does.
 
Yeah Pjanic did as much as one can and even more today. I just wonder what media will say back in Bosnia. I mean i think it was Pjanic who was heartbroken on the ground in tears or at least visibly shaken by premature exit, while mr Dzero here, who yeah was unlucky with an offside decision, but then he failed to take a lot of other good chances. And then he was, just minute after he failed to score with a great chance just inside the six yard area, smiling, swapping shirts with Ambrose. Life is good and all is well for him.
 
I wouldn't mind him. I watched his game vs Nigeria. He made some great through ball. His touch and ball control are very good as well. He is an intelligent midfielder. But we have Kagawa and Mata at the same role as him. Pjanic is more advanced role. So no. Let's move on.

From his Roma's games i can tell you that Pjanic definitely can play a CM. He is miles better in defense than these two. But in a way, in terms of roles on the field in attack he does mirror Mata, so i understand your reservations.
We do need a different type of player in midfield first.

He also played very deep against Argentina, and basically ran the show against them in the first half.

IF this kid is available we should definitely pay what is required. Not many around like him at present.

We can't. I think LVG really wants Strrotman, that means United would not go for Pjanic as it could complicate matter. He also just signed a new contract i believe.

And Roma only signed Strootman last year. Neither are going to be easy to get. Anyway sure he's just a muppet's dream, but I think players of his genius are genuinely harder to find than hard workers/ball winners.

Strootman will, given his relationship with LVG. Roma would definitely consider selling him for 30M, bagging a hefty profit.

He signed a new contract at the end of the season and rudi Garcia said something along the lines of he'd chain himself to the fences at Roma if they sold him. When he took over at Roma last summer he got rid of lamela and chose to keep pjanic as well, making him the main man. Now that they are in the champions league, I don't see pjanic going anywhere until next year at the soonest, though he was considering going to Barca I think because they were interested in him this season.
 
He scored his first WC goal, and had another good game, that's 3 in a row. Altough Iran weren't that great, we played with some really average players alongside him and still he was excellent. What really impressed me from him at this World Cup is that he showed that he isn't just luxury player but he can also run a lot and give a lot defensively, his reading of the game for that type of player is on high level. Gotta admit I didn't see those things before the World Cup. His qualities on the ball are something else, probably most exciting midfielder at the World Cup, at least for me.

To sum it up, and to spoil it for everyone, I still don't think he fits us. :D Still think his best position is in midfield three, ahead of first midfield line, or even in cm, but with number 10 who can run a lot and help out other two midfielders.

Anyway, glad we(Bosnia) have him, I hope he'll end up in top team, he deserves it.

Anyway decent player, hope hes doing okay to let AS think they can cope without Strootman and they surely can:-)
 
Slightly better version of Gibson :lol:. That's gotta be the worst comparision I ever saw.

:lol: Jesus Christ! What has the cafe come down to? Pjanic is a slightly better version of Gibson? Gibson, Darren Gibson?
