Well the Andre Gomes rumours picked up, and the Pjanic ones died down. He will choose Barca over us. When Dortmund came calling 2 years ago, he wasnt interested and waited for Real/Barca.
To be fair, Barca are the perfect fit for him and he'd be a fool not to go there if they're willing to pay him what others would.
The PL is a big risk for Pjanic; wouldn't blame him to avoid it entirely.
Much better fit for them than us, would be a good move.
They can have Pjanic if we can have Pogba 
After Verratti, Modric and Pogba, he would be my favourite midfield signing. The first two are impossible, Pogba unrealisitc. Pjanic ticks all the boxes, we need a player that can control the tempo and add creativity, and i am not surprised Mou wants him. Get him in.
Everytime I've seen Roma, which isn't that often, he's looked talented but never really took over the midfield, like a Scholes or Xavi or whomever else used to.
I am not all that keen on him honestly. I think he would struggle in the Premier League. He is not going to be afforded the sort of time to dictate the tempo of the game. His vision, passing while unparalleled wouldn't suit the premier league in my opinion. Hope we give him a miss and prefer to look at someone like Andre Gomes.

Used to be a staple signing for me on FM from about 2009-2013. Was a bit surprised he never moved to a bigger club in the real world.

Pjanic as of now is simply a better player an Gomes. I don't see any quality that Gomes has that Pjanic doesn't possess. Pjanic is also on the back of a very good season while Gomes was very poor throughout the campaign.
If you have doubts about Pjanic using his technique here then you have to have doubts about Gomes. Pjanic is even better at protecting the ball with his low centre of gravity than Gomes. Gomes might be taller but his lanky frame doesn't mean he's better suited to the league.
He is suited to their style and at his best he is I think, just not to be a key player really. I don't think there is anything between him and rakitic generally and rakitic does alright there so he isn't too far off.
Barca surely have other priorities. But you never know with them.
He is the type of midfielder that we need. A creative CM that will play the ball forward.
If this happens, I want it done on deadline day. DM headline, Pjanic buy.

The type of player we need only concern is where he's coming from... The Italian league has been a crap place to get top four players for our league.. It's not intense enough.
They both are very different types of players occupying different roles for their respective teams, so by extension, I wanted to imply that we go for a player who is similar to Gomes's style than Pjanic's. Also, one of them is 4 years older than the other, so there is no doubt that Pjanic is much better developed than Gomes, but that said, I disagree with your notion that Gomes has qualities that Pjanic doesn't possess. He's much more quicker, with excellent dribbling skills, can pass with both feet and and is really good in tight spaces. Pjanic is much better with his passing and through balls and better defensively, but I much rather prefer someone like Gomes in our midfield. He offers qualities to the centre of midfield which we don't at all possess. I mean literally zero, nobody in our team offer the qualities he has going forward.
Pjanic has not just had one good season, but he's been consistently good for a few years now, so no surprise that big clubs are linked with him. He's better off in La Liga or staying in Serie A in my opinion though.

If that's the standard your holding potential signings matters well pack it in now.
Seriously, Scholes and Xavi are one of a kind players who will go down in history as one of the greatest midfielders to ever play. It is absolutely absurd to hold potential midfielders to that same regard.

No, you're taking what I said too black & white literal, in the games I've seen him, he looks talented but never imposed himself on the midfield, i.e. dominated a midfield battle, the closest players to his style/position would be in the scholes/xavi mold, thats why I mentioned them specficially.
When I watch him for Roma and also for his national team in last years world cup, I come away thinking, yea... hes talented but he could be stamping his mark on the game more-so for someone of that ability.

if someone pays his clause if 38 million euros then he can leave.
Also roma need the money they are in loss again and if they dont have 30 million euros by 30 june they may nit be allowed to play in europe. Hence why i think one of the roma players will leave. Be it Manolas, rudiger,pjanic or nainggolan.

He's a fantastic player, the kind of midfielder we need to control games. At 38m euros, it will be a steal.
He's obviously got the ability but can he apply it to dominate games consistently?
