His first season was okay, but his second wasn't that good. It was probably down to Gourcuff, eventough he looked sometimes probably better than him, but Gourcuff "was their first choice".

Will he move? I don't know. I didn't see any speculations about him, even he said he likes Roma, and that he is enjoying his football, but I can see him moving if some bigger club offers good money.

This lad seems to have gone off the radar recently. Anyone seen him play much this season? Has he just been looking like he isn't that good?

Already discussed, read last three or four posts in this thread.

He's been good but not as good as we all thought he would be a few years back. Lyon really ruined him because of their old manager, constantly tried to play gourcuff ahead of him even if he was shite and pjanic played much better.
He was tied with totti for most assists for Roma though,so he's not doing terrible. Actually starting most games when fit at least. Hs brilliant at free kicks as well, strikes it almost the same way juninho used to.

Lets boom this thread alive shall we?
Di Marzio is linking us with him. I heard he had a great season, anyone can confirm that?

Would be perfect next to Schneiderlin in midfield.

Bayern were linked too. And Nainggolan might be on the move as well, I don't think they'd sell both.

When did Di Marzio link us with him?Haven't seen anything recently.Would love to have him here.

Best FK taker in Europe last season? Yes please
think Memphis hit target maybe once with zero goals from 40 tries after arriving as the best fk taker in Europeto the club, woudlnt be that excited..

apart that he's a bit overrated..

Yes, why don't you post the tweet or link?

All I see is Gomes or Manolas.

His technique is totally different. Would be great for us, we need a playmaker, he is it.

I was such a massive fan of his 2 summers ago, and he was one of the main guys I wanted us to sign.

Obviously his talent and ability is without doubt, but I wonder about his mental strength. The games of which I've seen, he seems to really fade in and out of games without really taking control - especially in big games.

The more I watch Pjanic, the more I get the impression he is a luxury player. I'm not totally convinced of his work rate, or his mentality in games when things aren't going his way early on.

I had such high hopes for Bosnia in WC 2014 but he was one of the biggest let downs of the tournament for me, so this might be sticking in my mind when watching. I've seen about 10 Roma games this season and he hasn't stood out to me.

Naingollan on the other hand....

Agreed with unitedbhoy. Lovely player when on song but he's more flaky than Fabregas.

Was sensational in the second half of the season.
I can believe this. Mourinho tried to sign him last year.
His technical level is right up there with Modric. Will be instrumental in unlocking defenses through the middle.
I want.

Modric is much better than Pjanic.

I'm Bosnian. I've watched Pjanic plenty of times for the NT and for Roma occasionally. Roma is his level.

Don't want him at United. Think it'd be a mistake. I also think Serie A suits him perfectly and the Prem wouldn't.

Yeah. I love him and he's ridiculously talented and always been one of my favourite players, but I've always maintained that I'm not sure if he was suited to the premier league. Brilliant on form, but more suited to the spanish league then prem because of his style. It's not even that he isnt good enough, because I dont think there is much between him and Rakitic and Rakitic is fine at Barca, but he just doesn't fit a mourinho type team or a more physical/high paced league.

Modric is a much better player. I'm talking about his technique. Don't think there's much between them in that department.

He should definitely go to a bigger club, he is not that young anymore and he should try himself on a bigger stage. I am not his biggest fan and I think he lacks some important things to become really good midfielder, but many average players with good set-up around them are considered better players than him even though he definitely has some special things in him not many players have.

I wouldn't mind if we tried to bring him here for decent price, he would probably cost us around what we payed for Fellaini, which isn't much in today's market, plus his wages shouldn't be high at all considering he is coming from Italy, so we could do much worse. At worst he can be a good squad option, and considering he didn't have some major problems with injuries and is fit most of the time(at least so far) he wouldn't be Phil Jones squad type of player, so he's definitely not a big risk.

He would improve us a lot technically, and bring something else to our play in final third with his creativity.

He is much better at free kicks than Memphis, Memphis only did it one year in Eredivisie, Pjanic does it regulary ever since he is on the scene, in French league, in Serie A, CL and on international level. And it's not just scoring goals, his crossing from set pieces is excellent. Just yesterday Bosnia scored against Spain from his excellent corner kick. That's definitely good thing to have in your team.

Though I don't doubt for a second that he will lose it if he joins us.

yeah his technique is much more consistent than Memphises but think it will be one of our center backs on the duty anyway

We need a midfielder like him, I've grown tired of Herrera.

There seems to be a lot more links then normal wirh regards to him so there may be something in this. Looking at it, if we signed him, he'd be class as part of a 3 man midfield in a 4-3-3 as he is for Roma, and would finally give us someone with great passing range and creativity in the middle. He is as good as any set piece taker (though he is a bit shit at corners somehow but thats standard at United) in the world right now, and is a very good dribbler in the middle. In the serie A over the past few years, he has arguably been as good as Pogba for Juve. Now obviously I'm not saying he is as good, but in terms of league performances, there isn't much to split them stat wise or performance wise. Think he's provided the most through balls in the league as well over those 3 years. He is great at controlling the tempo of games and is very similar to Thiago at bayern basically.

If we do sign him, then I would hope it's not just him in midfield. If its him as the most advanced midfielder in a 4-3-3, then we need players for the other 2 positions as I don't think Schneiderlin is good enough for it, and Herrera wouldn't be able to partner him... though Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin would possibly partner him well. My preference would be to replace Schneiderlin with someone like Nainggolan though. If Mourinho intends on using him as part of a 4-2-3-1 as one of the holding 2 like he did with Fabregas, then it could work for smaller games but would leave us a bit light defensively for big games (also again, Would need a better defensive mid then schneiderlin). He would without a doubt improve our team and be by far our best midfielder, giving us a lot more creativity and technical quality in the middle. The only thing is I'm not sure he is suited to Mourinho's usual style, though I guess he can learn to be more aggressive.

I can't say I've watched him much but he looks pretty fecking amazing based on this video.

My inner muppet has been activated. Sign him up

He is capable of amazing performances, consistency and being muscled out of games like what happens to Ozil or fabregas on occasion is the problem with him.

To satisfy UEFA's financial fair play requirements, apparently Roma must submit their accounts to UEFA by 30 June and need another €30m before then to avoid further sanctions. Roma were fined €6 million in May last year for "non-compliance of FFP break - even regulations" It is the case that Galatasaray were subjected to being ineligible to play in Uefa tournaments for two seasons for a somewhat similar offence. Additionally, Pjanic allegedly has a 38 million Euros buy out clase which is roughly £29/£30.
