Hmm I'm getting errors too
My 9 year old sister came home asking about this. I had no idea so I youtubed it and reported the illegal pirated one. I still have no idea what it is but she spends hours playing on her own. I tell her its rubbish but now I am seeing it everywhere. What on earth is this game.

What's the aim of Minecraft? I've always been hesitant for that reason..
I guess survival.
Beyond that you can build, craft, adventure, destroy. It's a sandbox game, you don't actually HAVE to do anything at all, there's just a lot that you can do. Best played with a few friends and some level of inebriation.
Although saying that, I've not played it in a while, and I'm getting a bit sick of seeing my son playing it and only it every time he gets hold of a computer. He's seen YouTube videos about it too so he feels that he has to provide a running commentary for the benefit of everyone too. Love the little devil but he nearly goes out of the window.

I can imagine as much, in terms of 'Anything you want', so I could create say 22 men and play football? Or give everyone a character and turn into a PVP arena? Or am I being a bit too ambitious here ..
No, but if you have enough people you can play basketball.
I've not tried a game of football, but with all the mods available I wouldn't be slightly surprised to find out that you could.
PVP Arena's are a blast. They also create maps for the game which involved all-sorts of different activities. My personal favourite was 5 giant floors, all directly above each other, of which the floor (for that level) disappeared as a player walked over it. Last one standing wins, the rest fall out of the world. It's complete chaos from start to finish with everyone trying to be clever and trap someone else.
Wish bukkit would hurry the hell up, I need something to take my mind off football.
I'm told the server has been successfully upgraded to version 1.7 and a brand new map is ready and waiting.

That address puts me on a server with a hugely developed city. Not a new map.

The server I landed on was definitely not new. It took a good 30 seconds of runing to get out into the open, the spawn building / area was that big!
Seems copy-paste is the issue. I deleted the forward-slash and the last number and then manually re-typed the digit.
