Gaming Minecraft | New caf 1.18 SMP server SIGN UP?

Yeah, you need to download that and open it up once just so all the normal minecraft files are saved in .minecraft folder. Then you can get forge and follow the steps in that link.

It wants me to purchase it with a card or use a redeem code I had a look online and completed a survey but the code they give me was invalid. Do you all pay for minecraft?
I paid for it. But I've learned my username to the girlfriend, sister, brother, friends, family, romans, coworkers, so it was too bad a purchase.

I think it slowly goes up in price*

*may not be true.

They are looking 17.95 and SW says its 15 so it maybe going up in price, I only need it for two hours the day and that's all it will get used so its not really worth. Thanks for your help anyway guys I should have come to you lot straight away instead of pming BD94.
I'd PM you my account details, with a changed password, but I know my little sister is on it basically 24/7 and I dont want her getting kicked out.

Maybe someone else can help lol

I'm running a public server at the minute with a fair share of plug-ins. I wouldn't be opposed to setting up a little private one for the cafe too, properly stripped down to just barebones vanilla like we used to do, if the idea is popular. Could launch it when 1.8 is released (very soon). I think it'd be great fun.

Thoughts?

Because building houses and then just staring at them is boring. Building working machinery is so much better.

You're over simplifying vanilla Minecraft. People create great things using redstone alone, and it's much more challenging to come up with creative designs. I may be way off, but in my eyes Tekkit just introduces easy ways of automating everything, and usually is based off of a dated version of the game missing all the new vanilla features. Not to mention in 1.8 the slime blocks seem to open up a whole new world of machinery/mechanics.

What working machinery can you build in Tekkit that doesn't just create a big shortcut to "building houses and then staring at them" as you put it just like in vanilla Minecraft?

Don't listen to zarlak he's narrowminded about these things. He also thinks Red Alert is too simple for him despite being one of the best pure strategy games of all time. He'd rather play games with fancier graphics and mechanics.

Do it with Tekkit ffs.

Have you tried FtB (feed the beast)? It's tekkit with much more to it.

I completely agree with your point about Vanilla. Once you have a house and diamond everything there's not much more to do.

- Has anyone been keeping up with the wolvereness/bukkit/mojang developments

and

- Can I be whitelisted on the server

- Has this thread really not been bumped since April? Is there another

Yes, it's a complete mess! Doesn't look good for Bukkit right now unfortunately. Added you to the whitelist for my server if that's the one you mean (You have to switch to 1.7.10 to use it).

If Bukkit issues are not resolved maybe we should try a different type of game, ala @Zarlak.

Cheers. Different type of game? I doubt I'll play very much but could be good to talk.

I was talking to a few friends about the great mods of all time; Garry's Mod, DOTA, Counter Strike, DayZ.. And how easy it is to Mod Minecraft, and now one of them to set up a server with me to make a new type of game.

Cheers. Playing at the moment. Looked like a great server.

Thanks, really needs 1.8 though to bring all the players back.

Also I have a spare slot for a server right now, I'd love to make it a large biomes vanilla server where members of redcafe could make a little civilisation. I think the large biome adds challenge and time to the experience so it doesn't go so quick as people have previously eluded to, i.e. building houses then staring at them. With large biomes things like infrastructure is more important.

If there is interest I can get it started any time.

I have a 1.8 Vanilla server just started (as a test) but if people want we can play on it? Seeing as it's people from here we don't need to worry about grief plugins etc.
