Tekkit. The ability to make functioning machines and setup production lines etc, rather than just building a house and looking at it.

We haven't. Personally there is enough new stuff that I haven't tried yet to satisfy me, but making machines and shit does sound fun as long as it doesn't wreck the server somehow, might need to have some limit on environmental impact or something?
So, my Laptop when playing Minecraft lags quite a bit which can be really annoying on Multiplayer, it's fine on singleplayer but whenever i try and get onto a server it is just impossible to play. How do i make it run faster with no lag?

If it's a new laptop, try downloading 64 bit Java. Also try fiddling with the settings in Minecraft itself, or downloading optifine.
I don't think he's talking about framerate as there should be no difference between single player and multiplayer.
64 bit Java helped a bit, i downloaded optifine but i don't think i installed it correctly as it isn't showing up on the game, will fiddle with it later. Cheers.

I'd be more interested in joing an FTB/Hexxit server. Vanilla just doesn't offer enough things to do compared to the mods.

Well I'm getting a new PC this week so I'll likely start playing it again next week. How do you guys normally do it? Join a private server or all jump into a public server? If it's the latter there are loads we could join.
Voltz is a mod that allows you to build bombs and weapons. We could have two teams eventually lead to a full on war.

The server has been rolled back to 1.6.4 until the new bukkit comes out. At the moment people can choose either to use creative or adventure modes. I'm going to be on after Doctor Who if anyone fancies a chat about the future of the MC Server and what mods etc to use. Or whether we should play any survival maps / creative games. (btw I dont run the server)
