Their squad is huge. Surely they have to move 7-8 players first before they can even think about signing anyone so if they keep Arteta next season could be even worse.
They have the right players for Sarri, looking at it from the outside. Lots of similarities with Napoli

If he survives this season, put some money on him being the first manager to be sacked next season. Who is going to sign for a manager in charge of a team setting records they would rather not be setting?

The Arsenal board have to take some responsibility for this too. Once Unai Emery was sacked, they needed an experienced manager to come in. Yes, you'll get Guardiola, Simeona, Zidane and maybe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer like stories where the former player appointment works but you could also end up with a Pippo Inzaghi like situation where the former player appointment doesn't work out.
It's often been said that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could do with bringing in some new faces to his coaching staff but one wonders what Arteta sees in the likes of Steve Round and Albert Stuivenburg who didn't exactly cover themselves in glory in their past life at a big club if we can still call Arsenal big.

Maybe because he wasn't a complete novice as the other two? He had years of experience managing Molde which people seem to just ignore and act as if Lampard's 9 months with derby or Arteta's assistant coaching job with Pep were basically the same as that.

Basically means ”We are skint and can’t hire a new manager before the summer window as he will ask for assurances and a hefty transfer budget. Arteta on the other hand is on his knees begging to continue so doesn’t have the leverage to force our hand. Really sad chapter in our history we're experiencing. Just completely depressing. I was one of Arteta's biggest critics and even I couldn't envisage how bad he really is. A shocking manager.

I don't mind the fans but the media, the FM generation of journalists that call a manager that is making obvious progress a failure/ not sure/ etc while he actually won titles and, a manager with 0 everything (from results to achievements) a potential great one, to me shows the incredible depths that football journalism have sunk.
This point was brought up at the time and dismissed as irrelevant because its some tin pot club in Norway and Arteta and Lamps were the trendy in thing.
He's also outlasted the man he replaced, one of the best coaches in the world after he took the spurs job.
Wonder would Pep take him back as ball boy? Safe to say he has has a disastrous season.

I refuse to believe the whole Willian thing is on him, there must be some political stuff going on behind the scenes. Any sane human being would give Willian a year off in Brazil just so we never have to see him near London.

I love that he puts his hands in his pocket and in the same movement exposes his belly, while still laughing right at his face. Like something you would see att Discovery channel.

Emery's win percentage when he was sacked was approximately 5 percentage points higher than Arteta's is right now. Not exactly a trivial difference. If he doesn't win his next game, it will drop below 50%. Winning an FA Cup and having the 'Pep's assistant' label sure buys you a lot of time.

Willian casually strolling to take the corner while his team is getting knocked out the the EL perfectly sums up the current state of the team.
It's unbelievable how far the standards have dropped during his time in charge. How is it possible he continues to be backed and not sacked after this season?

I don't know, most links are media bs at the moment be it Sarri, Rodgers or Rangnick. I don't even care, anybody coming in trying to slot in Saliba, make Partey work and manages to get something out of our 300k pw striker is fine by me.
I just want some fun back. We were so glad to have avoided Mourinho when in fact we were getting him in a younger body. Alienated 2 young players away, tumescent defensive football, 2 grinded trophies. He only needs to throw someone under the bus in the press and the transformation will be complete.

I don't think you can say he set them up defensively. He had a midfield that had Partey as the holder, with Smith-Rowe, Odegaard, Saka, Pepe. If anything in hindsight he should have played Elneny alongside Partey as it didn't look like Smith-Rowe & Odegaard knew how to play the 8' role properly.
I am talking about the way his team plays. I know you will bring the west brom game, Newcastle game and some other saying how they scored 3 goals. It doesn't matter, overall the guy sets his team to play in slow sluggish manner. I said it after your FA cup win, his football is just not sustainable. We saw that with van gaal. Slow sluggish. You guys were passing side ways in the 93rd minute. How can anyone like the football his side plays. I like to banter arsenal and hope he stays with you lot forever but one thing I always enjoyed with arsenal was their good football. What arteta serves is absolute pile of sh*t. Even as a neutral he makes me irritated. I can understand why arsenal fans have had enough with him.
