Michael Oliver

He's a cnut but both decisions were correct.

The red card is on Buffon, you cannot behave like that.

I need to see a replay of the penalty he awarded Madrid, seemed a fairly soft one. Benatia got around Vasquez and hooked it away to my eyes.

Brave call, but the correct one. Buffon must be wishing he was Joe Hart.

Both the decisions were spot on. He is a cnut, but still a top referee.

If it was the other way round he would never give the penalty.

That’s why people hate the little rat.

It's a pen. Tiny one, but a pen. When your opponents have been desperately diving all game, you cannot nudge one of them in the back inside the box. Juventus knew that would happen if they gave them any excuse at all. Nothing is beneath Madrid when they're chasing a result, so you know that any physical contact will leave their players on the ground.

He's only knocked over because he was stooping to do whatever the feck he was trying, and the challenge is more from th side than behind.

Vasquez was going down already, very very soft pen but oliver loves to make it all about him so no suprise there.

It was a pen. Jumps into his back with his full weight well before making contact with the ball.

Penalty seemed soft for me, even though in normal game I wouldn't complain against it. However, if it was on the other side in reverse situation we would never seen it given.

Bit soft penalty but in no way a wrong decision. Red card was crystal clear, can't see anything wrong in those decisions. Took balls to call them though. Good calls imo.

Even from your interpretation of the incident Benatia would be unfairly stopping a clear goalscoring opportunity.

I think it was a shocking decision. Very little contact and the Madrid player goes down far too easy. A shame that the tie was decided that way.

Like in the Premier League he tried to be in the center of attention.

Mickey Mouse British refeering. This is the CL, for God's sake. What was that?

Great decisions, both of them.
Clear penalty, and clear red card.
Brave man!

Buffon should have punched him. Cheat.

Brave decision. The penalty maybe not so much, but sending Buffon off...

The correct decisions though.

Got the pen and the red card right ,good performance big calls but he was spot on.

I wouldn't want to totally commit but it looks a bit on the soft side this penalty.

On initial viewing I thought it was soft. Replays, however I thought it was a penalty. Madrid player made the most of it though.

Soft pen, not a wrong decision but imo he wouldn't have given it if in other box. For me last minute in that sort of heated game - you'd only want to give a pen if it's a stone Waller and I am not too sure if that counts as a stone wall penalty. Tough maybe the fact it's Oliver making the decision makes it easier to disagree with.

Can see why he gave it based on his angle seeing the hands on the back. Vazquez stopped dead though and there was next to no force so I don’t think it was a penalty.
