Music Michael Jackson is Dead (All general comment)

Accused being the key word. He was an easy target because of his mental instability, being one of the richest, most powerful, and most well-known people on the planet, you are always going to have people accuse you of things that you haven't done.

Oh aye, him and all the other rich, powerful well-known people regularly accused of child abuse?

At the very least he behaved in a deeply inappropriate way around vulnerable young children, whether or not he buggered them was never proved beyond reasonable doubt in a court of law (as is all too often the case when paedophiles end up in court - it can be kind of tricky finding eye-witnesses)

He might be innocent but I'm not shedding tears or putting "RIP" on an internet forum for someone I never knew who has that kind of cloud hanging over them, just because he was a talented musician many years ago.

If my assumption is wrong then I'm being an insensitive prat but I can live with that. I doubt any of his family give a feck about my thoughts anyway.

feck it, I'll leave ye all to your grieving now.

His public and private lives were worlds apart, no doubt he was an entertainer but his private life was a very messy affair and I for one don't wish death on anyone but in all honesty with the state of his private life I think if it is confirmed that he is dead then he just might be in the best place!

I only say RIP if i am bothered by someones passing, each to their own though and tbh i am not that worried i just think Pogue is getting stick for basicaly being honest and it is unfair.

Fair enough, I just don't think it hurts. I said RIP and then ten minutes later I was chuckling at a Jacko gag.

I agree that Pogue is getting unfair stick, no one should be forced to care. It's going to be ten times worse than Jade Goody.

I was really surprised when he was pictured dangling that kid off the hotel balcony...He usually just tosses them off.

I don't know if people are expecting Pogue to feel anything for Jackson. It just seems that going into a thread to post that you don't care about the guy's death hours after it happened is a bit unnecessary. If you don't care, don't post.

Pogue is certainly entitled to his honest opinion, and I'm certainly not one of those people that's "lost respect for him" after his comments. It just seems more prudent (to me at least) to let the people that want to pay respects do so for a little while and not jump into the thread to tell these people that you don't care about who they've just paid their respects to.

Yeah, fair comment. Good point.

RIP
But I am trying really hard to care, I just can't. I doubt I will miss him. He has been gone a long time ago for me anyway.

I share this,

I think it's a bit hilarious, what kind of sad life do you live to jump down the throats of mourners, regardless of what they're mourning?

This is true, and the surge of this across the general and the entertainmnet forum shows this is a very emotive matter, so the not caring statement is possibly a bit stronger than actually not caring, in the context of the huge thing, like Diana ... I very pro-actively 'didn't care' then.

It may well have been the other way round...

I'm not telling you to mourn for him, that is down to personal choice and if you don't want to that's fine, i have no problems with that.

My problem is that people are assuming he was guilty of a crime (A sick crime) that he was proven to be innocent for. Yes, that doesn't mean he was necessarily innocent, but for me I don't think he was a child molester. He acted inappropriately around children, yes, but I don't think he molested any of them, that's just my opinion.

What I will say though is, if I had kids and they told me they had been abused, I would never settle an out of court settlement. I'd want the sick cnut behind bars.

Show some respect here people, if not for Jackson at least for people who adored him and/or his music, he has meant a lot to people.

Leave the jokes for a while

I think anyone who is posting anything but their condolences in this thread should be banned. Ridiculous forum sometimes, so bad that some people cannot even wait and let people pay respects before jumping in with their crude jokes and disrespect for the dead/dying.

Its insane that you can mock someone who has just passed away. If you feel nothing towards him, then there isn't much need for you to post here to make your views public, just keep them to yourselves.

Agreed i too have mixed feelings,on his passing i couldn't care and thats probably as a result of the numerous accusations of child abuse which i suppose is unfair as i have no real evidence but mud sticks. But i can't help feeling sorry for his kids who have lost a father and his family who have lost a brother etc.

Not realy making too much sense which is probably due to me consuming 7-8 cans of Stella :D Nice to talk to you anyway FT

Easy lads.

I wont post anymore...

Thought it'd be ok as it wasn't the tribute thread...

They pimped their kids, Elv. Some sick people out there - whoring your own kids has to be the lowest of the lows. They're as bad as he was.

i thought he would live till at least 100 with all that young spunk keeping him going

Any of his sins is related to him being the biggest celebrity in the history of humanity according to the Guinness world record book.

RIP Michael Jackson, legend.

MJ cant die, he is a childhood legend and surely imortal !!!

He is living on celebrity island with Diana and 2 pac, ands thats how it will always be to me.

RIP

As a creative - a true talent, one of the best in the world.

As a person - Not someone who you would leave your kids with.

Ive always had a problem with the Jackson camp settling, why settle if you are innocent? This is the main reason for his demise as a global phenomenon. I expect a whole thread of innuendo, due, know doubt, to his own making.

However, his music is timeless.

I thought jokes about child abuse were a banning offence.

Even if they weren't, it's still very distateful, and not something I, and I imagine the majority of people on here, find funny.

Right ok.

Alot uf aren't arsed though and do find it funny.

Is that not ok aswell?
Or is it just a one way thing.

If he's dead we can now call him a kiddie-fiddling cnut without fear of threats of libel cases can't we?

That's utter nonsense to be fair. Insensitive jokes are on dodgy ground alright, but ban everyone who doesn't agree with the general sentiment? Now that would be a ridiculous forum.
