Gaming Metal Gear Solid

Excellent game but the cutscenes are a bit much. Especially when they have the cheek to say "take a break you've been playing for X hours..." really? or have I been playing for 30 minutes and watching way to many cutscenes?

Are you missing out by skipping them?

Im going to start the game tmrw.

I could, but then I'd miss out on the story line and it's not like they aren't well done. Plus they only skip ahead a little bit and you have to skip again, like a voicemail.

Sounds like fun.

Metal Gear franchise will go on probably, the Metal Gear Solid franchise is over. If i rememebr correctly Kojima said this himself.

But I could be wrong, not a MGS fan so I dont really keep track of these things

You make a good point Elessar (For once).

There's supposed to be a Metal Gear 3 Ocelot coming out for PSP, and there will be a Metal Gear 5 for PS3/PS4.

I still have plenty of time left for MGS4 yet though:D

Have you completed it yet Doctor?

Yes, you are.

Not yet, finished Act IV last night at about 12:30, cutscenes ended around 1:15am.

Act 4 was brilliant, nostalgia at it's very best.

The ending of the game lasts about an hour and a quarter, so make sure you reserve some time to watch it, it's a fitting end to one of the best games of all time. (Hell it's the best game I ever played)

It is a great game. Once completed are you able to go back and do single missions or anything like that?

No, not single missions. But you can re-load up the game you completed and change the difficulty level and attempt to unlock the unlockables.

It's meant to be getting Trophy support aswell soon, whether it will or not I don't know. Surprised it wasn't built in though.

Hmm...I'd only have the hardest level to do. Good thing I kept a lot of save files then.

Yeah I know, gives me another ecuse to replay the game:D (As if I needed one!)

I think that is a good move though, stops people from importing completed save games onto the sytem and just unlocking all the trophies.

They should have just associated the save games/trophies to your PSN ID so you couldnt do that.

Finally finished this, brilliant game and one of the best I have ever played.

The cutscenes are not overbearing at all and are just part of the game and story line. Fitting end for Solid Snake, especially with the *Big Boss* surprise.

How is this gamed compared to COD4 in general?

And do you move in the same manner, moving with left stick and aiming with right?

What's this about then? Is it not simple missions in single player mode?

same. But reading some of the posts "Best game ever" had me convinced.

I actually have two here right now my friend. Although one is broken and I said I'd look at it. Apparently it was pissed on, but allowed to dry before being switched on.

It is seemingly powering up, but nothing else. Any ideas?

Pissed on?

A mate of mine did that to his Amiga 1200 (he had a habit of pissing on things during sleepwalking, normally taking the wardrobe in his parents' bedroom to be the bog). He just took it back to the shop he bought it from and got a new one.

feck knows how it happens, but people get so drunk they do fecked up things.

Anyway it's in my hands because apparently there's some kind of sticker inside that reacts to liquids. I said I'd have a look, but haven't got round to it yet. Heard anything on this?

Never heard of that, but, clever if true. How would you get liquid in it though unless you pissed through one of the vents? It's not like it has a keyboard where liquid is easy to get in it.

No idea. He pissed all over it, left it to dry for a few days, and now it doesn't work (but sounds like the fan or something is powering up).

Idiots shouldn't be allowed near electronics. Mind you, Redcafe would be a lot more empty if that was a law ;)
