Went all John Rambo on there asses instead of stealthing which took the firing squads attention away from the prisoners on to me. Rescued all five :)

Holy moly that disarm! I had no idea. Will be using that.

Can't fricking wait to customise my weapons.

Also, when you buy upgrades for your helicopter dont forget to apply the upgrades (like dispatch time) in the heli section. I assumed they wefe added automatically.

Cheers mate, they should tell you this in the game, it's the same with the buddy upgrades i didn't known they had to be equipped after you buy them. Should be done automatically or give you an option to equip it then and there when you buy the upgrade.

So with the helicopter upgrade what screen do you equip the upgrades on?

They get put on MB, but your MB doesn't get invaded (as far as I know) - only your FOBs can. So I don't think there is any need to keep them...but not certain. Will have a look this eve in the guide.

On the subject of FOBs, you get the first one free, if you want more then they are locked behind a paywall. Also, if they are invaded while you are on a mission, then you will be prompted to leave the mission to return and defend your FOB. You can choose to disconnect from online when you play the SP - in which case you won't get invaded.

Not sure I would want to quit a mission mid-way through to have to go back and defend my base - think that is something I will disconnect and skip.

Alright mate did you find out about if there's any good reasons to hold onto the weapons?

Also i have a lot of medicinal plants and you can sell them off for quite a bit, do we need them?

In game or irl?

In game

This is what happens if it's your birthday

I had to go and do a mission (side or main) then when you finish it you get a call saying there's a problem at motherbase

Then when you walk around motherbase the guards wish you happy birthday too

Some rave reviews here, people saying it's even better than Witcher 3 is a bold claim when Witcher has been by far the best game of this current generation. I'm not seeing it yet (although it's been very good) due to being only 2 hours into the game but definitely going to spend some more time over the weekend and next week.
It's that 'new game feel'. Witcher 3 is up there with my favourite games of all time but I can't deny that after playing this for a few hours I was like a little bitch squealing OMG THIS IS GOAT GAME. See how they compare when the initial excitement and hype has died down a touch.

Also have to remember that there are going to be expansions for Witcher that make the fecking thing even more of a monster.

2015 is a good year for gaming, is what I'm saying. I think.

 I am awaiting that moment, it will inevitably come. I've only gone through one mission plus intro so it's very early, Until Dawn has consumed me too much to spend more time with it. It's probably going to get properly awesome once you get into this in full.

I agree, two huge games already done with incredible amount of content with one more yet to come (Fallout) plus a lot of very interesting shorter, 10-12 hours games: Until Dawn, Dying Light, Bloodborne (not that short), Batman, yet to come Hitman, Star Wars, new AC set in London, Halo plus Forza 6. Next few weeks are going to be very interesting, when I look at games already sitting on my shelf plus what's to come then there's no way you could be bored in terms of gaming.

It's been better than that. Considering what's still to come (Fallout 4 in particular), it's an outstanding year. The Witcher 3 and MGS V would take GOTY by a landslide in any other year and I expect Fallout 4 to give them a run for their money as well. Add games like Until Dawn, Bloodborne, the new Batman game, Project Cars, etc. Add smaller gems like Life is Strange and (hopefully) the upcoming SOMA and it starts to look like a stellar line-up. Great time to be a gamer.

is anyone aware that you can rescure Hideo Kojima in GZ and when you import the GZ data to TPP he joins your MB?

I have around 10-15 hours left in Witcher, full Batman, half of Bloodborne, full MGS5, half of Until Dawn and a huge backlog from last year (Far Cry 4, Alien, Middle Earth, Dragon Age). I could probably skip buying games for a year and still have loads yet to play, not like I'm going to skip Forza, new FIFA/PES, AC or Fallout though  I completely forgot about Just Cause 3 too. And Hitman

This one is easily around 60-80 hours apparently if you take it at normal pace.

Aye I was trying to calm down after I got myself all worked up in the first paragraph.

The games from this year already out and yet to come that you and @Sarni listed. Well.:drool::drool::drool:

What I'd like to have are two or three months where I do nothing but play video games. That should allow me to catch up on everything I have bought but not yet played and move on. :D

I like to dedicate myself fully to big games like Witcher or MGS but going to make an exception here and play both at the same time while I'm finishing Witcher. I like to pause a big game sometimes and move on to smaller titles though - I imagine I will complete Until Dawn this weekend and Batman during some other weekend during the next few months while I'm playing MGS.

Thing is I want to complete GTAV again too but no idea when I could possibly find the time.

Yeah this game is so good. My game of the year for sure

Really didn't expect anything to be better than The Witcher this year (pretty sure Fallout 4 won't be)

I really didn't expect the graphics to be so good considering it's crossgen. Very nice looking game and I love how far you can see.

And the 60fps is great, so smooth

I seriously need this too. I still have loads and loads to do in The Witcher 3, just started MGS V and still have the likes of Dragon Age 3, Shadow of Mordor, Pillars of Eternity, Divinity Original Sin and even slightly older stuff like XCOM Enemy Unknown lying around. I should just focus on one game at a time but I just can't resist!

Customise - helicopter & then apply the upgrades.

Had a lovely heart in mouth moment yesterday related to the above post quoted by @ThierryHenry .

Sneaking through a base to capture someone and I thought I'd marked everyone, as I'd marked fecking loads. Going through an alley and in the opening just ahead of me the one unmarked baddie was strolling, stopped and turned towards where I had been just a split second ago (I recklessly jumped over a wall). It's a really simple thing to happen but it's amazing how it can elicit such a panic response in real life.

I ended up getting spotted sneaking out and having to kill two of them though, that's what they get for making me rush.

I spent most of yesterday doing side ops and it started feeling a bit repetitive. Anyone else find that? I think I need to start doing more of the regular missions, hopefully they aren't as repetitive. It makes sense for the side ops to be a bit repetitive but I have some kind of ocd where I feel like I need to do them if available before allowing myself to do a regular mission .

this is me every single time

Just upgraded my Fulton so I can send back vehicles! Was waiting for that before I tackle missions 8 & 9 - am going to try and send the tanks back, rather than destroy them...

Once I do one of those missions, then I should get DDog - who will effectively send DHorse to the DGlue factory

Am sending loads of guys back, but checking each time I do that there are no troublemakers - if so then I just ditch them. Hopefully I should be able to upgrade my scope soon - v3 of the scope will say which skill 'family' someone has - Gunsmith, Troublemaker etc, but not the specific skill (v4 does that). That should then make it easy to avoid having them killing any of my staff.

Did a few more side-ops, and am updating my base whenever I get the chance. Sending guys out on combat missions definitely brings in welcome funds - although I don't fully understand the nuances of putting together the best types of teams to send out.

Already looking forward to getting back out in the field later this eve!

I haven't found out yet - not sure if the FOB will factor in on this front?

I am selling them all off at the moment - theres always plenty more out there!

For the plants I am keeping some of each and then selling the rest - all about liquidising assets!

is it true that it can take 90+ hours to upgrade some of the motherbase stuff to level 4. That sounds absolutely crazy

I have collected 20 mortars and 12 Guns since you gave that tip about them selling for double the extraction cost yesterday...haven't sold them yet. Hoarding them for a rainy day

Has anyone went into the door in the medical bay yet? Bit of a headfeck like.

Also, is anyone else able to get into any other indoor areas of mother base? So far ive just got the medical bay bit but its locked again now.. im certain i saw a tutorial from gamescom or something where they were going inside the different departments of MB but all the doors in mine arerent bringing up any button prompts.

I haven't found any indoor areas for motherbase yet. I have to say that it's probably the one part of the game which is kinda boring. There's nothing to really do there

Yea the 60fps is great. So used to having 30fps in open world style games

Same. And yeah, constantly doinv side ops can be a chore but the main missions are much better. The level design is much better. Intensity is a lot higher. Plus cut scenes and story progression.

Hint for the main missions. If you ever see "guest starring the Skulls Unit" during the opening immediately call for a rocket launcher before you venture on.

Yea I went in there when looking for quiet on same platform but those are the only things I've really found there. Loads of diamonds lying around but apart from that there's not a lot going on at the moment for me.

I always try not to kill anyone that's how I've always played MGS. I am thinking of going a bit more Rambo style in the side ops though because I've barely used any of the weapons.

I'm thinking when I get it I'll go for a lethal playthrough, then later go for a non lethal playthrough.

Do you guys go for non-lethal level completes? You get a bigger score doing it that way don't you?
I find it more fun trying to sneak my way through missions. The side missions aren't scored so I just kill people as it's annoying when they wake up (although I do it by cutting their throats instead of shooting them).

That method has also kept the gun stuff really exciting/tense as its a last resort fight my way out of certain death with 10 people after me kinda thing

I'm looking for a transportation specialist so I can fulton vehicles, any ideas?

Just had a disgusting sickening vile random CTD that set me way back on the mission I was on. feck this I'm going out for a drink
