Not sure it's been mentioned and is a bit petty: it would definitely weaken a top 4 competitor which is another reason to go for it, and soon.
That is dangerously close to my favourite formation. The 4-4-2 diamond
Yes, please.

Oh my... give me a tissue, swap Martial and Rom around as both prefer the opposite sides and watch that team destroy442 Diamond you say...
We could play this with just Ozil added -
-----------------DDG------------------
Val------Bailly--------Jones------Shaw
-----------------Matic-----------------
----Herrera-----------------Pogba----
------------------Ozil------------------
-------Martial-------------Rom--------
Some will say too narrow, but like you, I love that diamond, it's the José special. Mourinho is a 'diamond' geezer, he made the diamond twinkle in the PL, how fitting it would be if it was the diamond that brought him back to glory.
I think he'd be brilliant here and would provide inspiration for the rest of the team and our supporters. He's the talisman our support had been crying out for, a bit of a maverick that is extremely talented.
I could certainly see him going up a level or two if we got him too. I've gone from thinking he'd be a smart buy to being desperate to sign him the more I think about it. Especially if we are looking to bring in a flying winger like Lucas that will run off the shoulder of the defender.
He’s really quite good, isn’t he?
When he wants to be.He’s really quite good, isn’t he?
Most of us want Pogba left of a midfield 3, so Ozil as a No.10 doesn’t work in the formation, but he would give us more options and we would play like this in the ‘easier’ games.
Martial - Lukaku - Mahrez
...............Ozil
.......Pogba ... Matic
Sandro-Jones-Bailly-Tony
---------de Gea
The amount of creativity in this team is insane.
(I’ve added Mahrez at RW just to complete the formation.)
Ozil bad is overstated and blown out of proportion without considering the context. Ozil is not the type to be the leader and get everyone perform. He is an enhancer who boost the core players quality. Clearly even at his best he is not very good defensively. Even in so called bad form, overall he's still up there as one of the top creative players in the league. So on average he is still very good player to have even if the top form sustainable for whole season. Definitely better than what Mkhi has shown this season.IF he maintains this form beyond this last season for Arsenal, then absolutely would be worth it. I'm still wary that he's giving his all for one last big transfer and would then revert to how he was the past 4-5 years, being ineffective when the going gets tough and not working so hard. But yeah. Would definitely try and bring him in now instead of the summer. Also this commentator mentioned Arsenal rumoured to being ready to accept bids of 30m or so for sanchez, and if that's true, then we should go all out for that.

His answer is all about big club status, history. Surely Arsenal ain't bigger than us? Also Arsenal missed out CL this season. In case they failed to get qualified again, then there may be a huge problem.I reckon he'll stay where he is.
