I think it’s the same 10 people in this thread who keep pushing for this signing then all agreeing about how great he is. Everyone else stays away because if you disagree you get bombarded by Özil fanboys.
Whereas you just make stuff up and talk complete shit.

If he can play off the right and allow us to field a midfield 3, I'd love him here. He's one of the best players around.

But if he's coming to be a #10, I'd prefer not. Our first priority should be fulfilling the potential of Pogba, Martial, Lukaku and Rashford. They're all world class in their own ways. There's no point in stifling them so that somebody else can be world class in his own, different way. That'd be a case of one step forward, two steps back.

We've been trying to build a team ever since Fergie left. The main thing that's stopped us is the fact that every manager has thrown away the blueprint and tried to build something new. We need to build on what we already have.

I imagine it would be a case of #10 in games we should dominate and off the right against bigger sides.

Pogba aside I can't see how any of those you said are world class unless you have a loose definition of the term. Rashford and Martial certainly can be but have a lot to prove yet. I'd consider Lukaku a few steps below. It's not really relevant though as they're rarely starting together as it is so it's not like Ozil would be stifling anything that isn't already being stifled, if that's how you see it. He's a totally different type from all those anyways - One that would probably bring the best out of any and all of them if they provide the runs. I think his link up play with Pogba would be glorious.

I agree with your last point but I think the major issue has been chopping and changing managers with such different styles. We're definitely improving but City have a set a standard well beyond where we are. We'll need to sign top players to get to that level.

We should have a poll then? @Raoul

Oops.. it seems we already have one. :wenger:

Bought him on a free transfer on FIFA 18 along with Sanchez, used Özil as a makeweight in a Neymar deal. It’s a sign

How has he generally played these last couple of seasons? I don't watch many Arsenal games but whenever I do he always disappoints. Some flashes of brilliance but overall just too weak in every sense of the word.

Really don't see how he would be much an upgrade on Mata. They are pretty much equally gifted and Mata is a far better team player.

wtf, some guy called "poet" that supposedly works with Adidas and Copa 90 just blurts out on The True Geordies livestream that someone from Adidas told him Ozil is off to MUFC and there is a big "some massive campaign" coming.

:confused::wenger::lol:

Even the guys with him are unimpressed

You don't have a 'different opinion'. You have literally just made stuff up and presented it as fact.
What? That Özil is on daft wages at Arsenal and no one else wants to match his salary because no one else thinks he’s worth it? We’re on a forum, I don’t need to cite references for my opinion to be regarded as valid. Same as your opinion that he’s what we need, which I respect by the way, but I still have the right to disagree without the need to resort to calling you names over the internet.

When did I call you names?

You said, and just repeated, that no one in Europe wants him. Arsenal want him to sign a new contract. That's not a matter of opinion, that's a fact. You are flat out wrong.

You said he hasn't achieved anything in the PL or Europe. That would be World Cup, La Liga, Spanish Cup, German Cup and 3xFA Cup winner Ozil. Again, you are flat out wrong.

You said if he was good teams like Barca would be interested. He has been heavily linked with Barca for weeks. Something you have subsequently totally ignored.

You made up some other bullshit about this transfer talk 'coming from Ozil's camp'. You don't have a shred of evidence to support this.

You then switched to the "you're fanboys" bollocks. 581 people in this thread are in favour of us signing him. You can tell this because there's a poll.

Ozil is not on daft wages, he is on £140k. The same as Mata and Mkhitaryan, and less than De Gea and Lukaku (and probably Pogba).

Ozil's grace and vision combined with Rom's strength and directness and Martial/Rashford's pace would be a beautiful thing.

Ozil and Pogba linking up would be utterly sublime.

The more I think about it, the more I want him here.

And apparently a similar figure to what Fellaini is allegedly being offered....let that sink in for a moment..!! :annoyed:

I don't think our board is daft enough to offer him that sort of money considering his age and quality, in fact rumors suggest both Fellaini and Mkhitaryan can leave in January.

Don't know what to make of Ozil, there have been so many contradictory reports. Other day, Arsenal twitter teased a renewal as they posted some of his best goals. Wenger has also been adamant he won't be sold in January. But, then you have some random bloke working for Adidas suggesting he's off.

As time is going on I think it’s becoming more and more clear that Ozil is joining us on a free and over the last few weeks he’s actually looked interested and playing really well, clearly putting himself in the window or showing his chosen next club what he can do so worth signing.

Griezmann is off to Barca by the looks of it so Ozil and a world class right sided forward works for me IF the Ozil we're getting is the one I’ve seen over the past few weeks, I think in our 4-2-3-1 system and the pace we have up top (especially with a right forward added) Ozil could flourish as our system is far better suited to his style and game.

Arsenal's Twitter account has been posting a lot of stuff about Ozil the last few days...a lot of their supporters seem to think that it's a sign that he has, or soon will, extend his deal.

Good, we can place him and Griezmann in the rearview mirror and move on.

That's not a good news.

Would be a good capture if we can get him for a reasonable fee in January. If not then I hope we consider Fekir.

The issue is I don't see Fekir would move in January. Clearly he is better stay and maintains his form to get in France WC squad. Moving now is too risky. Ozil, Griezmann is different. Hey already established themselves in their NTs, and even with inconsistent form next 5 months, they would still be WC squad player.

If we stay put until summer, then free Ozil is just too tempting as it free up a lot fund other other target.

Whoever runs their social media accounts doesn't have a clue about the players.

That poet hangs around a lot of players, would be very surprised if he's making it up. I really do think Ozil ends up at United, it's just whether it's January or the summer.

Ozil and Pogba with Matic screening can compete with KdB, Silva and Fernandinho.

He and VUJ have been working on the social media side of the football for a number of years now.
They have series called “fifa and chill” where they interview people like Pogba, Rio, KDB and they even hosted part of the Balon D’or recently. I think they also hosted the foregone Euros, plus they sit among the executives & corporates at champions league matches and games all across Europe as part of their reporting.
I think Poet was a freestyler, which is why he’s part of Adidas and Copa 90.

Either way he’s very well connected in the world of football, and this claim - if true - certainly shouldn’t be laughed at as if there’s no indication of it being true.

Not a chance he re-signs now, the list of clubs better than Arsenal who would take him is as long as your arm

If we are looking at a 3-5-2 system then ozil would work perfectly as the no. 10, creating in front of pogba while a combination of lukaku and martial are present in front of him. Even if we play 4-2-3-1, he would be equally effective as the no. 10, replacing mikhi who seems a bad fit for the system

With him being on a free, there is clearly nothing to loose.

Can't for the life of me seeing him re-sign, there's no reason for him to do it, unless he's really that lazy he can't be bothered to move.

He's gone, and I fully expect him to be coming here.

Would he be cup-tied in the CL since he has played in the EL for Arsenal?
