I don't think people question his talent, it's his mentality that is very much questionable and how frequently he can actually be arsed to turn it on.
This, and his age, and the fact that we have a couple of talented but underperforming #10's at a similar age to him already. I'd take him if we got rid of Mata and Mkhitaryan, as he's better then both but getting him in addition to them is pointless. Sell those 2 and just have Ozil, and don't force everything around him because there are games that he just isn't suited for.
Completely depends on the wages they wanted really.
If they wanted 20m per year then 10m transfer fee, or a more reasonable 14m per year, 20m.
In the summer the players can't risk

Yeah let’s not improve cause we clearly can’t improve. VVD Luiz and Rose look available and would improve us. This would give us the strongest defence in the league with the best GK. I’m all for keeping Rojo (he’s done ok) but would rather have VVD and Luiz as they have proved a step up in their performance levels over the last few seasons.
Give us the strongest defence in the league? We already have the strongest in the league. There's absolutely no justification in spending close to £100m on CBs who are not really better or an improvement on the ones we already have.
We should be talking Maldini and Beckenbauer levels if you are looking for an improvement.
Clearly a better option than mkhitaryan, Hope we can get him and sell mkhi in the january window itslef.

Why would we have to sell 3 players just to sign one of the best AM's in the world. To say he only turns up for 5-10 games a season is laughable.
I'd sell both Mata & Mikhi and sign Ozil + a RW.

Miki and Mata have to go regardless.
Let's face it he would be a great addition in January. Miki and Mata get less time (sold in the summer) can only help us.

A lot of Arsenal fans believe he is heading for Manchester United in January. I heard a lot of guys over here in Ireland who travel over to a lot of Arsenal games say this. I hope if it is true that he is more consistent with us than he is with the Gooners.
Hopefully we can get him and I wont mind if United sell mata and mikhi. We have Lingard who seems content to be squad player as no. 10 backup.

Lacking a bit height in defence
Ozil is a bit of a fair weather player isn't he. How many of his 47 assists came in tough games, how many points has he won for his team with his goals and assists? Adding to the scoreline in a 5-0 game is nice and all, but it's not what you really need most over the course of a season.
Though, he'd most likely be a decent upgrade over Mata and Mkhi. They both seem to be nearly done here.

Why stop at the defence? Apart from DDG they can all be improved! SIGN ALL THE PLAYERS
Could be a good buy and although wages and signing on fee would be big, it should leave use with funds to buy a truly top draw attacker.
Erm because we have 3 players for the position he plays in? 4 if you count Zlatan as a #10, 5 if Pogba plays there.

He's spent half his time with Arsenal looking like he couldn't be bothered, putting zero effort in.

Couldn't be bothered and with zero effort he still has the most assists in the PL in that time and created the most chances. Jeez if he is pulling that off then he is quite clearly one of the best in the world.
I don't buy that he's coming to United in january, but it would be pretty great! He's also the favorite player of a mate who supports Arsenal and hates United with venom

Not wanting Ozil doesn't equate to thinking Mkhi and Mata are good enough, I don't know why so many people keep jumping to that conclusion.
We need him badly, we have absolutely no one of real match winning quality in that position and we’ve needed it for 4 years. Probably more.
How can you not want him in January? We absolutely need him and/or Mahrez. These are realistic, gettable players who would instantly improve our attack, it needs it.
