Ozil makes so much sense for the creator role if Mourinho is going to use multiple formations. Ozil fits at the center of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 or behind 2 CFs in a 4-3-3 or 3-4-3. And Ozil's delivery on set pieces would make all those big athletic players Mourinho likes in his squad real goal scoring threats.

We desperately needs more players who can keep possession under pressure. Getting a world classs talent without paying a hefty fee is an opportunity we can’t dismiss. With Pogba and Matic, hopefully a new quality midfielder like Milinkovic-Savic or Fabinho, and Özil will get the offensive freedom to support our forwards with quality passes.

Ozil is a world class creative player miles better than anything we got so we should definitely get him.

Nice to see Ljajic is doing well stats wise. I think Malcolm would be a good addition to our RW position, if we bough him, got Ozil for free, a solid LB and a back up CM in summer I'd be happy.
I really think a new challenge will galvanize Ozil, It will be interesting to see him in a KDB role with us, or behing the strikers in a 3-5-2 system...

Agree. He's a massive improvement over mata,miki and lingard,he's worked with jose successfully before,knows the premier league and would be a fraction of the cost of what he's worth in january or free in the summer. No brainer to me,lets get him.
We wouldn't have said that a few months ago. That guy has been a massive let down and to consider Ozil now over him shows how far he's fallen.
Ozil on a free is a good deal however if we are prepared to pay we can get a much better player that would fit out team better. Check out Nabil Fekir. This guy looks like the skilled technical players that Man City sign. Compare his close quarter ball control and dribbling skills compared to the typical players we have. Most of the players in the United team get dispossessed so easily whereas this guy seems to have the ball on a string. Players like Fekir, Jorginho. Lemar and leon Bailey would add so much skill and dynamism to the team.
If he comes in January, expect a big hike in the share value of 'Ozil is a cnut' replica Arsenal shirts.

We know what to expect from Hollowman aka Ozil but atleast we know he won’t fluff his lines when it comes to creativity. Our number 10’s have sucked for years now.

I will be happy if we can get Fekir, I like him but with Ozil, we can expect him to give bigger impact immediately to the team like Matic since he has experiences to play in EPL and knows Jose well.

Which precisely? KDB plays either at #10 or as part of a CM duo next to Fernandinho, but with a more attacking focus. Like Pogba does for us. Very often the #10 role at City is played by Silva while Mkhi does the same for us.
Now, that's undoubtedly a role Ozil can't play. That of a CM. KDB does a lot of pressing and clocks many interceptions and quite a few tackles during a game. His stats in this area are much superior to Ozil's, who even Mourinho has said is better played with the freedom to create but no other responsibility. Also KDB produces more powerful and accurate shot outside the box, something Ozil hasn't got in his locker. Thus more of a threat coming from deep.
We need a world class 10 and 7. Because Mkhitaryan and Mata aren't good enough. Ozil, Rashford and Martial behind Lukaku could be magnificent. Add Griezmann to the mix though, and it'd be even better. Ultimately we don't just need elite players on the pitch, but also on the bench. I want a situation where you've got 5 bonafide top drawer players competing for 4 spots, and then another 2-3 good squad players i.e. Micky, Mata, lingard.

Yes please. If he’s never worked under mou and there was even a small fee a bargain say I might not be interested. For free and mou knows him. I personally would be happy to see mata go if we got the ozil that was at Madrid. Judging him only from Arsenal I don’t think is necessarily right that club can stifle you mentally it’s not right there
We could do with a quality final ball this season. We have enough grafters in the team now. He doesn't need to be running around tackling people or anything. Miki doesn't seem like he's going to be consistent enough this season. If he could maintain a higher level or even just not stink the place out so bad when he's having an off night we might not even need ozil. But as things stand yeah we could use him for sure.
I think Mkhi is the one that needs to go.
I want to get Ozil so that Mhikitaryan can go back to the right sided attacker role he shone in at Dortmund fulltime. Where we can harness his energy to run with the ball and ability to score, whilst taking the responsibility if being our second, central play maker from him.
Nice player but I don't think Mourinho wants to sign those kind of players. Mourinho doesn't seem to want someone who skillfully dribbles their way into the box, he wants somebody who can ping balls accurately to the players in the box

Considering we need two new #10's this one is a no brainer, we can't splurge on two top class #10's at once.

Mata has proven useless as a 10 time and again for us. There is no good reason to try that failed experiment again.
