Started well today, wouldn't mind him on a free. He'd excel linking up with Pogba, Martial, Rashford, Lukaku and possibly Griezmann or another pacey winger.
 
6 chances created in the first half. That is pretty damn good albeit against a very poor Everton side.

I am genuinely shocked at the amount of people who don't want us to go for him for the small fee it would cost (assuming he comes in Jan).

The quality is blantanly obvious.
 
I was reserving myself about this guy cause half the time he seems to lumber in games and coast somewhat, he couldn't do either at United as we saw yesterday, smaller teams raise their game.

Today he's been a level above our creative players, he'd be a great fit instead of Mata, he has more pace and can use his right foot. His touch to create space for himself is sublime.
 
I can't see the dilemma here. Ozil is a better player than some of our current 'stars'. Neither Mikithariyan, Mata, Lindgaard are better than Mezit Ozil. We need to consider how poor, or ordinary, some of our players have been in recent games. We can't drift through the season with our current squad because it isn't quite up to it.
 
Honestly Ozil is not my first option but with regards to Mata and Mhiki, Ozil needs to be bought. Regardless of the game against Huddersfield, Mata and Mhiki haven't offered much for the last 5 games or so. We've won those games and therefore, we as fans focused on the wins and not the fact that how we could get better. Mata on the right offers nothing. He comes inside and we lose the width of the RW. Valencia is a good RB but his crosses are just awful. We need someone who can whip those crosses in for Lukaku to attack them. We've bought a 75m striker. He's a beast of a striker. Let's make the best of him which we aren't doing at the moment.

We do not have a traditional winger at the club. Rashford and Martial are actually strikers masquerading as wingers. Mata and Mhiki are not wingers as well. They are no. 10s. Lingard is not a good enough winger to start for Man Utd. Ashley Young is on borrowed time at United and Valencia is a RB now. We need wingers in the true sense. If Ozil does come, he should be played behind the striker. And even though I'm a fan of Greizmann, he shouldn't play on the RW, so I don't think we need him if Ozil comes which saves us funds to buy a proper RW or winger in general.

Options
Bruma (Leipzig). His style of play is very similar to Mane. He's tenacious and that's what we've lacked in the final third
Pulisic (Dortmund). This guy is one to watch for the future. He's quick and two footed and he's got a good footballing brain. Him being a United fan doesn't hurt either.
Draxler (PSG). With Mbappe, Cavani and Neymar as the preferred front three, he's going to be a bit part player at PSG. Two footed, tall, strong and offers trickery. Wouldn't be a bad option as well
Sanchez (Arsenal). He's world class and is PL proven. If we got them both from Arsenal, it would not only weaken one of our rivals but offer us PL proven players who are bound to have an instant impact.
 
We have to remember that this is his best game since some time now. What happened? Why did he play so well today?

Ozil sure have some talent and is some levels above Mata, Lingard and Mikhi combined, but in my opinion it is not talent we lack, it is persistence and heart.
Last couple of games for united, we were soulless, its like they dont want to win the games anymore, i dont know what the problem is but i am quite sure it is not in one single player. Also, i do not thinking buying an additional player "Ozil or someone else" will solve this problem.

Coming into form? Missed the start of the season through injury and hasn’t consistently started.

That, or, he played an awful Everton side.
 
It was the best I've seen him play for some considerable time. Seem to be of a different mindset today. I wonder if negotiations with Arsenal are going well? Sorry, Caftards.
 
Özil would be a massive improvement on Mkhitaryan. Yes, Özil at his worst is quite bad, but still, he manages to at least create a couple of really good chances, while Mkhi at his worst can't control the bloody ball.

Ozil at his worst is better than playing with 10 men when Mkhi is having a bad game.
 
Not interested. Bit like Veron, he tends to go missing in the big games and the big moments. It's all well and good playing well today against Everton or scoring a wonder goal against Ludogorets, but he never turns up against us, Chelsea, Spurs or City. United don't need another number 10 either. Should focus more on Perisic I think. Verratti would be a great addition too. Need to set our sights higher
 
With Özil we could start Micky on the right side, which is where he flourished at Dortmund. Özil has that killer pass we often miss to be able to unlock defences and with Pogba from the deep we would have two players able to unlock a whole defense with a singel pass. Think all of our offensive players would benefit from his runs and passes, especially if Mourinho could get the best out of him again.

Except for when he did turn up against City and Chelsea in the FA cup, or when he turned up against us when we lost 3-0 or when he turned up against Chelsea when they lost 3-0 etc etc.

I would have Ozil over Miki and Mata but the problem is we can only start one of those three (if we get Ozil). Playing with two similar players is painful to watch
 
I'd be confused over him, and wait for the season to go deep until we make a decision based on mkh and mata's and ozil's performances.
 
... people, we just need some better players in January.. (OR.. some of our attacking players have to hit some tremendous form, and I simply do not see that happening.) I would love a flying winger, with an ability to tuck in when we don't have the ball. We need wide players who get outside their full-backs at cross. Ashley Young and Daley Blind are our best crossers in open play. Martial and Radford should should add this to their game, gain half a yard, and cross the damn thing... good, quality, early crosses, allow Lukaku to smash into some defenders and cause havoc.
 
Masterclass from Özil. Desperately need that player who can unlock defenses.
