I got the feeling from Fergie's interview on Sky, that he will not sign Ozil or anyone.
he dodged the question like a bullet

gera
But seriously there is clearly an interest from, whether we sign him is an entirely different source. Lots of noises coming out about us being in negotiations and Fergie not once denying anything in his press conference today. Nothing might come out of it but I think we're interested.
If people want to hope in vain or not, let them Someone posted something about Bremen having a game in Europe sometime this week, so all the expectations would probably die after that match as I doubt Fergie will want him to be cup tied if he's going to buy him for this season.
If Fergie was really interested then surely he would've watched him play rather than scooting off at the half time. That is unless he was checking out Danny Murphy.
That match is on the 17th. Long time to go
He came on in the 38th minute, right?
Amazing that our resident loons think those 7 minutes were all Fergie needed to fulfil the main purpose of his trip.
Well, not amazing. Kind of predictable really.
My bad, thought I read somewhere that it was this week, oh well this gets to drag on for 9 more days or at least until Fergie just says no in about 100 different languages.

Sir Alex plays down Mesut Ozil link
United have been linked with a move for the playmaker and speculation only grew when Ferguson was spotted watching Fulham's friendly against Ozil's Werder Bremen on Saturday.
But speaking after United defeated Chelsea 3-1 in the Community Shield at Wembley, Ferguson insisted he was merely scouting Fulham ahead of the Premier League meeting between the two clubs on August 22.
"I think he's interested a lot of teams but at this moment in time I trust the ones I've got," Ferguson told Sky Sports.
"I think people recognise the confidence we have in the younger players coming through at the club, and we'll definitely stick by that.
"We got to have a good look at Fulham. We've got them two weeks yesterday and under a new manager you always want to see what they're going to change."
Ferguson was pleased with United's performance at Wembley as goals from Antonio Valencia, Javier Hernandez and Dimitar Berbatov secured a promising 3-1 victory over Chelsea, who won the domestic Double last season under Carlo Ancelotti.
"It was a decent display and I'm very happy players such as Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen and Park Ji-sung are nearer match fitness," Ferguson said. "Some of the football was very good at times. I think we deserved to win it."
On Hernandez's goal, which saw the new signing kick the ball into his own face and in, Ferguson joked: "He'll not try it again - it was a quite peculiar goal. But he's quick to get in the box - he's a really good finisher. He's got a bubbly character and speaks good English. He's settled in very well."
This deal makes sense. We all know it. So do the Glazers. They'll save money on Ozil's training gear. MO7, same as Owen
Well the fact that he left at half time suggests he was only ever going to stay for the first half, I'm sure he's a busy man, and I don't see why he'd know the team Bremen were going to field any earlier than anyone else. However little his appearance at the game says on the matter, the fact that he left at halftime doesn't say anything more. It's speculation on both sides of the argument - either ye're all loons, are ye're all just being human
Ferguson hinted he was an admirer of the 21-year-old midfielder - one of the best players at this summer's World Cup - but asked if he was interested in bringing the playmaker to Old Trafford, he replied cryptically: "I don't know."

If he went to that game with the intention of casting his eye over our main summer signing you think he'd bugger off after watching him play for just 7 minutes just because he's a busy man?
No chance. If he went to Craven Cottage to watch Ozil he'd have cancelled whatever other arrangements he'd made for the evening and watched the second half.
Say what you want Fergie did nothing to silence the speculation with his comments today. A simple "no we're not interested" would have sufficed.
I am officially no longer erect
we will not sing him as we kept Cleverley. Fergie said something about confidence he had in youth players in the Interview for sky.
be a bit harsh to sign someone and never sing their name

Ferguson Refuses to Deny Ozil Interest
I think that agenda may have been that Fulham is our second opponent in the league.
The plot thickens..
hmmm... possibly? I don't know, but I doubt you do either! Like so many have pointed out, it's very hard to tell a lot about a player from a preseason game, so why would it be so important for him to see the second half of the game that he'd cancel any other plans he'd made?
Surely the idea that you have any clue how Fergie manages his diary is a more lunatic suggestion than the idea that maybe, just maybe, one small part of his decision to go see the game was to take a peek at a player we've been heavily linked with?
I've no idea how he manages his diary but it defies common sense that he would attend a game to watch Ozil, then buggar off after watching him for 7 minutes.
Here's an alternative explanation. The explanation Fergie himself gave. He went to watch Fulham and knew he'd see all he needed by half-time.
Now, which of those two scenarios is the more likely?

Forming an opinion in seven minutes (if SAF actually did leave at half time) - retarded.
Learning all he needed to from one half of a preseason game - retarded.
Take your pick.
