Mesut Özil

Ozil was outstanding in 2 games during the world cup and for me he was anonymous in 2 also. 3rd best midfielder for Germany behind Muller and Sweinsteiger. Why are so many talking like he is the greatest player on the planet.

The argument that he is value is a decent one but the silence by the player, his club and all the so called interested parties leads me to believe his future was tied up before the world cup. Who with and when I obviously don't know but the silence is deafening for me.

The quote you used, is old. You dont have a bloody source you copied and pasted it here from bloody talking reds or whatever the shit place is called.

You want ozil so bad that youre looking for any source of hope, even one as stupid as this! Any idiot could have written that for a whine up! Bloody hell, see sense.

I am not interested if we sign him or not - I'm not one for posting in the Transfer Forum to be fair.

I leave that to the likes of you.

Agreed, heavily overrated... even I would excell having Sweinsteiger and Khedira behind me. We can't afford to give him the same kind of freedom he was given during the WC. Having a player locked down to a 4-3-3/4-5-1 is a waste, we're playing with more flexibility.

A player should not be judged on his international performances, club games are where it's at. Just look at Podolski!

I don't think this is going to happen now

Why is this constantly being bumped? Whats the latest?

When was the last time fergie really meant what he said.... Fergie words should always be taken with a pinch of salt..

Fair enough but I really do not think he will be making a move for this lad. To be honest he is the only available player that I would like to see come in

We really need to stop clinging on to that reasoning when it comes to buying someone...

But Carrick was fit enough to complete an open training session at Old Trafford on Saturday morning and there appeared no obvious reason why he should not play some part against Chelsea.

Ferguson also stated Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen and Nemanja Vidic would get at least 45 minutes against the double winners and all three were present on Saturday morning.

Strangely for a public session held in aid of the Manchester United Foundation Ferguson himself was not present, as he will be watching Werder Bremen, including reported transfer target Mesut Ozil, play Fulham in a friendly at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

It was left to assistant Mike Phelan to stress how much the Red Devils are looking forward to the new season.

Interesting

I think I'll watch that Bremen - Fulham game too. Muppets, get your scouting specs on...we've got to inspect our man.

Well if that is true and SAF is at Fulham you can expect the caf to go into overdrive. IMHO I dont think SAF will be anywhere near Craven Cottage, god knows what he is doing but Im sure there is an innocent explanation

Like the one two posts above yours?

I think if fergie continues to ignore the midfield issue we are screwed, giggs and scholes are no longer starters, gibson and cleverley are only learning, anderson is injured, hargreaves dead. if carrick or fletch got injured id be worried

I would go along with that, we may lucky and things may be ok but there is a reasonable chance we will suffer in that dept, but here is hoping. Carrick also badly needs to leave last years form behind him

Ozil isn't the kind of midfielder we need anyway it just would have been nice to get one of the brightest young prospects in the game.

Ah the cycle of a CAF transfer groupie:

1.) Hear about a player with an exotic name
2.) Watch a few youtube clips of said player being good
3.) See a game where the player plays very well
4.) Wank furiously on redcafe that this is the player we need most and how he'd be perfect
5.) Follow all rumors on the CAF and even create a few rumors by saying he's been spotted somewhere
6.) Keep wanking. You are at the point of ejaculation
7.) Stop wanking as reality sets in that we won't be signing said player
8.) Convince yourself on how you never wanted the player anyway and that he is not really what we need.

0-0 after 12 minutes.

Spurs losing again, at home to Fiorentina. Even Young Boys might not be very easy for them.

Very dry, to be fair I've said for over a year that what we're lacking is a cm that can play next to Fletcher in a 442, in fact I've said it so much I'm boring myself just thinking about it.

Wasn't really aimed at you but the general CAF cycle.

I have now come to accept we are very unlikely to sign Ozil, and although it is a plausible explanation that SAF is at Fulham to watch Fulham play, I find it strange he would go on a scouting mission just to see them play, and he also misses the 'session in the aid of the United Foundation' which surely would be more important than watching a future opponent play a meaningless friendly.

Question we should be asking is where is Gill? If SAF is there to meet Ozil, I suspect Gill will also be close by.
