Who said such a thing?
Quite a few articles I've read, in this thread and other places, have said it's looking to be done by Monday. Mainly the German ones - admittedly.
The manager says cleverley is staying. Signing a new midfielder seems unlikely at this point.
Piotr Trochowski to be Manchester United back-up target after Mesut Ozil
Manchester United will line up a move for Hamburg midfielder Piotr Trochowski if they fail to sign his Germany team-mate Mesut Ozil from Werder Bremen.
Ozil is out of contract next summer but is rumoured to be keen to move away from the Bundesliga this year after impressing at the World Cup.
Bremen are equally desperate not to lose out on a potential transfer windfall by letting his existing deal run out and risk being forced to settle for a cut-price fee.
However, the Turkish-born playmaker is not short of potential suitors - with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, and Spurs all rumoured to be interested.
As a result, Sir Alex Ferguson has identified another German World Cup hero in Trochowski who could add an extra dimension to United's midfield.
The Hamburg player would also represent more of a bargain, with Bremen thought to be demanding upwards of £30million for Ozil.
No one questioned SAF about new signings in the press conference then?
To the Benzema thread! So were buying a new striker then!!!
If Ozil came then either Nani or Berba would be hte biggest loser and as Nani has just signed a new contract and Berba still has SAF faith then really it would be difficult to jusify his purchase no matter how cheap he may have been.
How will it be difficult to justify signing a potential star for the next 10 years for less than £15m? I'm scratching my head at that one.
They were probably warned beforehand not to, SAF only answers questions he wants to. What anyone wants to read into that is up to themselves of course
When he wants to avoid giving certain answers he usually uses the phrase "i am not getting into that"...or something similar
There's no question about that.

If that's the case then maybe something is happening? Surely if nothing was happening we'd just say so rather than avoid the question?

To the Benzema thread!
No one at United has even mentioned Ozil - unlike with Benzema last year.
Give it up fellas. Not happening. Park your cocks in the united forum now.
