So the evidence that Ozil isn't coming is that United have decided not to send a 20 year old out on loan before January with Carrick, Hargreaves and Anderson out??

There has to be a name for this sort of reverse muppetry. Knee jerk transfer muppetry and knee jerk anti-transfer muppetry are the same thing IMO.

First, Ferguson's words about Cleverley confirm that the club is looking for a player to fill the Scholes role.

Second, United usually likes two options at every position and competition for places.

Third, this may be a bargaining tactic to lower the price on Ozil.

Save your laughter for when the transfer window closes and not before.

Im not entirely sure, but it sounds like youre calling people who dont believe ozil is coming, muppets? That Cant be right...

Has anyone asked Ozil how much he wants to come to United yet?

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm convinced. Impeccable logic

Lol @ 'reverse muppetry'

Have some of this then...

to quote from a source:

"Expect United to make an offer for Ozil. He has his heart set on Barca but they have their heart set on Fabregas. Also, I believe United spoke to a UK agent representing Ozil and were quoted a weekly wage of 100K +. It is their feeling that the 'cheap' transfer price (10-12mill) more or less makes Ozil a free agent. Arsenal are also speaking to Ozils representatives but they are awaiting the Fabregas situation. Spurs are an outside bet for Ozil. If I had to stick my neck out, from what I hear, there is a 60% chance United will sign Ozil. The 25 man squad limitations make it difficult to sign further players - even though United are in a better position to most of our rivals in that situation."

What's your source?

100k is too much for an unproven player, no matter how talented he is. No-one from Utd/Spurs/Arsenal would pay that much.

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous, but isn't Berbatov on 90K or something. Which kind of makes a mockery of the wages.

Info from THE INSIDER - Manchester United Community

28th of july as well

Even with the World Cup, this summer has been a let down. United need to sign someone especially in the midfield, just to freshen things up. I remember Fergie saying before the transfer window opened that United will sign around two players, and this was after we signed Smalling and Chicha.

Fergie says a lot of things though. Remember it's a narrow market with no value;)

We have freshened it up, we just haven't paid crazy money to do it

Lets just hope its enough. Especially considering City's new squad and Chelsea having a stronger midfield than last year with a fit Essien, Ramires and Benayoun.
If Carrick and Anderson can return to form, while Fletch keeps his as Gibson, Cleverly and Obertan make their mark, we will be okay.

A return for Hargreaves would do no harm either

For 12 million I'm surprised Peter Jackson hasn't signed him for the Hobbit, probably cheaper than Andy Serkis and CGI and he's surely better than Orlando Bloom through the middle in the annual LOTR footy bash.
