It'd be difficult to lineup Ozil in the same team as Canales and Di Maria, two of Madrid's new signings for next season. But here's a stab at it :

---------Higuain
---Ronaldo

Di Maria Canales Ozil

--Khedira Alonso

Now thats extremely gung ho for Mourinho. None of Di Maria, Canales or Ozil are going to defend all that well which leaves it a bit "Brazil" with having 2 midfielders do all of the defending. It would be a shock for Mourinho to play such an open side... And if he wanted to do that he has Kaka to come in anyway. Cant really see him going to Madrid, especially as his favoured club is Barcelona.

Before anyone asks, yes I've seen Ozil play on the right before and its something he can do. Whether it'll get the most out of him is another question entirely...

Yes, nothing wrong with your analysis, Canales will walk straight into the first team.

-------------VDS-----------
Rafael-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra
---Fletcher--------Scholes---
Valencia-----Ozil--------Nani
------------Rooney-----------

 i can imagine it now, Özil with a wonderful through ball to Valencia who drills it across goal and Rooney taps it in!!!

Tremendous line up that. How would he work in a 4-4-2 that we deploy against weaker teams at home?

Despite rumours of a pending move to the Bernabeu a Manchester United scout was seemingly happy to talk up the precocious youngster, telling the Daily Mail: “He's like a ghost, the way he arrives into the box unnoticed.”

Who is this unnamed scout? That tells the Daily Mail about Man Utd targets?

A ghost scout. I love the way he unknowingly arrived on the scene to tell the Daily Fail about Ozil.

That ghost thing comes from when he was younger, he had the talent like Scholes of 'ghosting' into the box.

Personally, I think he gollum's into the box.

Think you read into half the argument here. Another poster stated that Milner was valued at 30million so Ozil should be valued at 25million and be a bargain. I pointed out that an elite player like Villa went at 32million. And those players aren't even close to him in terms of influence on a game and ability.
True though that theres a normal club price and a Man Utd price then when you put Man City VAT on that we are out of the equation.
Well a good world cup does not exactly prove you can perform on the big stage?
El Hadji Diouf? Stephane Guivarch, Jon Dahl Tomasson? all big name transfers after world cups to premier league and all big flops. A good world cup does not make a good player. Jury's out for me on Ozil i would take him but not at the prices quoted.
Besides having Ando back "will be like signing a new player" ....(im waiting for those words from SAF)

Thats fine.. but you just gave the crappest comparisons ever. When will people realise that Houllier :wenger: brought Diouf before the world cup and he wasn't that great in it either. Guivarch scored 1 goal yes 1 goal in the whole competition and ended up playing second fiddle to the likes of a young Henry and Trezequet. Hell knows what Tomasson done. Ozil was big before the world cup it just helped that he played good in it. If he played crap would he then be a justified signing? Anderson before the injury had alot of maturing to do, it's not this going to click next season for him.

Have you seen much of him at Bremen? I think most of the people who think he's gonna be a great player starting thinking that from seeing what he's been doing in the Bundesliga. The WC was just a confirmation.

Probably play wide left with Nani on his preferred position on the right. Not sure about him in the middle of a 2 man midfield yet but I'm sure he could do the job alongside Fletcher/Carrick.

We Ozil in the side along with Fletcher and Carrick... It would free up the relience on Carrick which makes him shit!! Could see that formation working well!!

That would be my preferred way of doing things or rather with Ozil having the freedom to roam forward. But the man asked for 4-4-2.

Yeah i was talking about even in a 4-4-2. I could see it working

Either

Nani Carrick Fletcher Ozil

or

Ozil Carrick Fletcher Nani

The last formation would still allow us to play through the middle, with Carrick's man job just reading the play and passing it off to the likes of Nani and Ozil. But yes him at the top point of a 3 man midfield would be the best formation.

No see i think theres a big point you are missing here... we signed Poborsky for a high fee at the time after Euro 96. TO be honest he wasnt a world beater for us now was he? Granted the Diouf thing may be correct i will hand that to you but didnt Everton sign Amokachi after a good World Cup??
If Ozil played crap would he be a justified signing? Well theres the point you are missing, i would not pay 25 million for a player who in my opinion wouldn't actually be guarantee of a first team place. When someone like Villa went for 32 million and he actually is a star player
Thats the point....
1:Because he is not a 25million pound player
2:Because he isn't any better than what we are working with at the moment.

Fair enough id be all for a move at 10 million but those crazy amounts being banded about the press, and you are all still convinced he is coming.

I said earlier in a post i have seen him play a few times for Bremen but he wasn't exactly any better than Diego was for Bremen. Fair enough he filled his boots and only just but i reckon Diego was more the talisman for them.

My judgement on Ozil is, his throughball passing is superb, great give and go player with great vision. HOWEVER, he is not a dribbler, in my opinion. Most times in the world cup when he was pressed or pressured, he didnt dribble or anything, he simply shat himself and fell over looking the free kick. He ran away from pressure when his back was to goal.

Raw talent yes, POTENTIALLY a good player but has a lot of growing and ability to fulfil before I can join you in the jizzfest. The attacking mid we are looking for should be like the Kaka of old, the Lampard, the Gerrard, the Diegos, the Tottis, the Attacking midfielder who almost serves as a striker and runs into the box and shoot from anywhere

If anything, he is suited to Spanish football and not fast paced play with good old in your face defending. I reckon he will be the biggest name flop after all the wanking over him.

Where the feck is Diego these days? Yes sitting on the bench at juve.

Ozil is not a great dribbler, but his passing, give and go, and through ball are superb.

I'm more worried about his temperament, he seems lazy at times. Something that SAF can fix.

Surprising how SAF can't seem to fix Berba's laziness. But you may be right. Ozil is young and still in his 'learning' phase, so the laziness can be ironed out.
I think that betrays a fundamental lack of understanding of what players are about. That's just not the way it works.

They have a mode of expression that works: there's no point in making Berbatov run around like Tevez or Tevez try to emulate Berbatov's touch.

So you're saying there was really no point in telling Ronaldo to cut down on all those unnecessary stepovers and instead be more direct? No one's asking anyone to emulate another player. I'm just saying certain bad points in a young player can be ironed out to make them a better player. Whereas for a player like berbatov who's already had so much footballing experience, you can't expect him to change his ways suddenly.

Berba was far from lazy against Celtic. Thought he was our best player to be honest. Maybe it's a sign of things to come this season

Apparently Ozil is in Barcelona. Could be on holiday. Could be there to tie up a transfer. Could be somewhere else altogether. (LoveLaLiga on twitter)

If they play Ozil and Iniesta together their midfield would be like the walking dead.

Very informative that..

WTF do you want from me?

Media sources in spain say he has been seen in Barcelona.

I have not seen him there myself so I can not say 100% that is the case. So maybe he is there, like the media say, maybe he isn't.

Oh.. I misunderstood.. I thought the entire thing you posted was copy pasted from that Loveliga place.. I was mocking it saying that in the same line he says he was spotted in Barca he says that he probably was not..

Exclusive preview of Barca's next signing.

In keeping with signing all of the best walking dead players, Trifan Ivanov is making a comeback.
