Ozil got too easily knocked off the ball at times. I remember when he wanted a penalty off Ramos late in first half. Ramos challenged him fairly and he fell over like he had been shoved heavily. He needs better body strength.
Going down and body strength have little to do with each other these days. Drogba is a fecking rock but goes down with the lightest of touches.

If you were making that connection that is.

That wasn't anything to do with body strength - that was diving on contact.

In this case it wasn't. He went down because of a clear lack of strength. That si why the ref didn't even book him for a dive. & the ref was good.

That was one of the most natural losses of balance I've seen. He was moving too fast and Ramos' challenge simply knocked him clean over.

He wasn't knocked over, his left ankle was clipped. Certainly not a dive. Pete's just trying to be his usual 'Look at me, I'm clever' self.

He's missed multiple training sessions with fatigue, he was unlikely to get back on track with another brilliant performance. Should have had a penalty for sure, other than that he was on the periphery of the game like most players who play his position and he wasnt particularly impressive.

I wonder what some posters on here would think of his workrate if we signed him.

Bang on. He reminds me of Forlan and Berbatov. United rely on having players with some pace and a decent work rate. If you lack in both, I do not think you stand a chance at this club. Ozil is a seemingly class player and does have bags of pace. But I've spotted him a few times in this wc that when he starts charging up, the minute he get's the ball he tends to slow play down and take a bit extra time on the ball.

I don't think he's like Berbatov at all. Not that slow by any stretch of imagination.

Yeah I think that comparison is far fetched, he has more pace, works harder, and is more direct; sure he doesnt do that everytime he gets the ball in space but no player does, well other than Ronnie

:(

weak ozil?
he looked big and strong to me, im sure he was the oen who was in the middle of 3 spanish defenders and held the ball up and escaped.

ozil, like every other german player didnt have alot of time on the ball, spain pressured well.

Ozil did as much as he could and was rather good compared to most other players who couldnt handle the the pressure and the lack of possesion

Ozil > Sneijder

Absolutely and would fit so much better in our team and is quite clearly the superior player and not in the least bit a dwarf spastic like Snidearse.

Yeah, Ozil doesn't give a feck for the World Club Cup either, he's not a small-time dutch plonker.

Ozil has bulging eyes.

Ozil has bulging eyes.

Bulging Eyes of hunger, intelligence, tecnical ability, speed and desire for Manchester United.

Snidearse is obviousy no where near that level and he's retarded and smells.

As a playmaker he isnt, but this season in the champions league and in the world cup he's been scoring/creating goals more often than Scholes has in these big matches.

It's true, you can just tell.

Ozil vs Sneijda

Ozil Pros: Bulging Eyes of hunger, intelligence, tecnical ability, speed and desire

Cares not for the World Club Cup

Isn't Dutch

Ozil Cons: Eyes can be caught offside early

Has German hair even though he isn't really a German

Name Rhymes with Ketchup Bottle

Sneijda Pros: Has Won/Might Win everything in a single year

Can take Freekicks

Sneijda Cons: Is Dutch

Loves the World Club Cup

Loves Inter Milan

Is a Dwarf Spastic

Lacks Bulging Eyes of hunger, intelligence, tecnical ability, speed and desire

General Dutchness

Is related to Raoul Moat

Snidearse just told us to shove it so he's clearly no that good a player.

MESUT OZIL has hinted he would consider a move to England — if Chelsea or Manchester United came calling.

The Werder Bremen midfielder has been one of the stars of the World Cup as Germany's young side have stormed their way to the semi-finals.

But with just a year left on his contract, Ozil is weighing up his options after attracting attention from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

And the 21-year-old revealed a move to Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford would be most appealing to him.

He said: "The Premier League is a great league and teams like Chelsea and Manchester United are very strong.

"While the World Cup is on, I won't think about my future — but La Liga and the Premier League have teams where you can win the best trophies.

"I just need time to think. This is about the next three or four years, my future."
