I actually wouldn't be surprised if Wenger got him.

Replacement for Fabregas, Cheap and Young. Reminds me a bit of the Arshavin saga albit a bit younger...

They bring this up about every target. Yes, you can also find profiles for Kaka, Ribery, Ronaldo, Messi and even Heskey if you look hard enough.

Is your Twitter name Bulks?

Fabregas hasn't gone anywhere - and as AMs they have Wilshire, Ramsey, Rosicky and Nasri.

According to Honigstein, Özil's camp is no longer interested in a move this season because they think time is too short considering the upcoming CL qualifier game.

Makes sense.

Are you stalking him? ;)

you should really be his P-R agent, and i don't mean that in a bad way at all, you've actually came with the most accurate news regarding the sleepy little boggle eyed boy (i say that with love, like a mothers love for her child).

I actually don't mind us not getting him this season..

We have a multitude of options this season..

Midfield: Fletcher, Anderson, Scholes, Gibson, Carrick, Giggs, Cleverley & Hargreaves..

However next season I think atleast 2-3 of them will either Retire or will be sold.. Its a make or break season for Carrick and Hargreaves (I understand this is his last year on his contract) I fear Anderson has alot to prove too but I think him Gibson and Cleverley will be categorised differently seeing as they are young.. Although Cleverley will be above the age limit next season and will thus be competing with other CM's to stay at the club.. Whereas Giggs and Scholes are not getting any younger..

And that was just the 433/4231 AM options.. Considering Ozil is so Versatile we also have to look at the Wing options and Striking options as he can also play on the Wings or in the Hole in 442/451

Wings: Valencia, Nani, Park, Obertan, and overlapping players such as Giggs & Cleverley..

Striking: Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov, Macheda, Welbeck, Owen, Diouf

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the Flip side we will probably have to also promote a few through the system with so many talented players coming through..

We could get Ozil for free and promote

Young prospects such as: King, James or Eikrem and Other players like Norwood, Petrucci or maybe even Possebon could make the shift up.. at a stretch players like Will Keane, Ajose, Stewart, Brady maybe even Morrison..

Although I say next season these players are all so young still and can make the shift up over the course of 2-3 maybe even 4 seasons before they will need to be registered in the squad as over age players..

if we don't get him this summer, I see no chance of us getting him next summer to be honest. Now or never imo.

Ozil explanation from manutd.com's @stevebartram1: It's a technical glitch.Every opponent or player linked in transfer spec gets a player ID

Why? I don't understand this. How hard can it be to create a profile once the player has signed, rather than deal with this kind of speculation?

I'm not saying he's lying, I just don't get it. If Ozil had joined, we'd know about it. If he was on the verge, I can't imagine the first thing Fergie/Gill do is tell manutd.com to have something ready on the profile pages.

I thought it was a glitch in database CMS. It automatically creates one.

Ok so he is in Manchester for a medical but we are going to loan him to Barca for a year before selling him on to Arsenal.

Makes perfect sense.

My professional guess would be; every player who is (in some specific way) 'featured' on ManUtd.com is automatically given an ID in the database - this would allow them to do all kinds of things moving forward such as cross-linking throughout the site, create player profiles etc.

I imagine that whoever submitted said article made a mistake and accidently created the profile. Easily done I assume, considering it's happened at least once before

They are hidden, they take some digging up to find them.

It's just simple database management that makes life easier for the webdeveloper.

the profile is automatically created based on the player id. there was no mistake in creating the profile, it is automatically created off the back of the player id (which is created when a player is linked to the club on the transfers page)

What a team we'll have.

Honigs Latest 'The only deal that could realistically still happen would be with a Spanish club, who had one €12m offer turned down. And it's not Barca.'

Yeah he'll probably end up at Madrid... either that or City will stump us just to piss Utd off like they tried to do with Berbatov.

I think people need to stop hanging on to his every word.

Madrid looking for a quick fix to their Kaka problem.

Cheap young star, fill a gap and sell some shirts before getting discarded and ending up in Serie A or Germany a year or two later.

Seen it all before. I have no idea why any young player with serious potential would choose to go there.

It has to be either of Real or Athletico Madrid or Valencia..

I reckon it might be Valencia, if what Honigstein says is true. They are in serious need of some new players.

Not to mention that if they were so inclined they could sell him on for a likely colossal profit.

Yup a good year in La Liga and if Madrid decide to get rid of Kaka next year then Ozil would o for huge sum.

Biggest Question....

Does Fergie want Ozil?

There is little indication that he does want him.

Apart from going to see him play on Saturday instead of attending the open training session at United. was said on twitter yesterday by one of the football writers - daniel Taylor I think - that it was confirmed to him by a senior figure at United that Fergie went to see Ozil, not to scout the fulham side - which is a job he has people for and scouting an opponent in a pre-season friendly is a bit stupid too.

Though he only saw him for 7 mins.

Surely they just wont play him?

Depends, they may want it sorted this week so they can plan for it. If he wants to see his contract out they may as well use him as it would improve their chances and the income generated would be more than they'd probably get for him on a transfer.
