Confirmed, from high at #MUFC, that Fergie was at Fulham last w-e purely to see Ozil - not, as he said, to see forthcoming opponents

Fergie ALWAYS delegates staff to spy on opposition unless it's, say, a big Champions League tie (but definitely not a friendly) #MUFC

Why is there a twatish face of Ribery on the first page when this is an Ozil thread? Or do they look the same

Check when the post was made and read it - will make sense.

The link you post MUFCGal is pretty much what has been floating around for the last few hours now. They've put Chelsea/United because at first it was reported that Barca/Werder had agreed on a fee but, then Pep rejected the final yes on it because he wanted to stick to what he had.

Then a story regarding Chelsea entering the fray popped up some place out of nowhere and so Metro seemed to have taken the liberty to say it is now between United and Chelsea for Ozil.

That was a swift response

Don't think Real will go for him as a Kaka replacement, they've got Canales for that role(I think, not sure though).

DT has been browsing the United fan forums and knows a tweet like that will send them into a frenzy. Good on him.

feck me, this really is entertaining stuff.

I'll be furious if we lose another player to Chelsea mind. I hoped those days were gone.

What DT tweeted is hardly groundbreaking. Anyone with half a mind could understand Fergie was not there to see Fulham as he claimed, but was there to see Ozil.

I hope we find out some concrete info by the end of today if we've made a bid for him or not, but I think this circus will continue until their CL game.

Are your 5 a side team out of the running then?

Talks broke down after he asked about his pay, and our reply was.

"It costs a fiver per game, mate. And you'll probs wanna keep a £1 loose for a Lucozade Sport."

feck sake.

You should never have bought that team.

''Love 5-a-side, hate Woodzy.''

Even if what DT reports is true - strange that SAF went to see Ozil but, was there for 7 minutes. Ozil came on in the 38th minute and SAF left at half time.

Till now it's been speculation but, if DT has real sources then fair enough but, otherwise just because SAF did something out of the norm such as scouting a team and not sending out a scout doesn't mean much. Not like he has never done anything new or that maybe he was in London already and took a little time to see Fulham before he had to go do some other business or even meeting.

The 21-year-old will sign a four-year deal with the Spanish champions worth 10 million euros, the newspaper reported.

Ozil had been the recent target of clubs including Primera Liga rivals Real Madrid and English clubs Arsenal and Manchester United.

The midfielder, who joined Werder Bremen in January 2008 for €4.25m and was under contract until June 2011, impressed during the World Cup this summer in which Germany finished third.

Um ... really go back and read through the last couple hours of posts and that both Ozil and Werder have rubished this.

This isn't the sort of thread you can just pop into and post stuff.

lol no kidding. I am supposed to be working but, the Ozil posts keeping me occupied. Anyone just coming in thinking they have some breaking news really should read back at least a few pages - with how fast posts are being made in this thread - what most think is new news, is old old news.

Anyway aren't Barca in serious debts? Where do they find all the money to buy players again, never mind wages? They already bought in Villa and one other odd midfielder whom i cannot remember.

SAF didn't go to scout Ozil - I am sure he has seen enough videos. It was more a personal signal to the player that he came to watch him and thus has shown his interest and desire. This is the personal touch that was lacking when we missed out on the Aaron Ramsey signing.

Now that 'signing' I was upset about. I thought a young skilled British player would be awesome, no fear of him having Barca DNA.

Ozil, I'm not so fussed out.
