I can see a willingness to cover defensively, he did plenty for Germany at the World Cup, but he also does so for Werder in the Bundesliga. He has a strict coach (Thomas Schaaf), who doesn't like the idea of a player not tracking back, not marking or not putting in a defensive shift. He does a lot of ball-winning in his own team's area and is certainly not afraid to get stuck in (something that he needs to do, should he move to us).

Dont be such an arrogant twat & chill the feck out. I have read the fecking pages & i've heard what the Bremen Sporting Director Klaus Allofs said. I didnt realise the time of the RTE article (14.09), I thought it was an up-to-date i.e. close to the time that I posted!
Seriously some of you lot need to chill the feck out, you're behaving like a bunch of kids throwing dummies out of the pram.
