4000 posts. A new milestone.
So you think we should have signed Villa, Ozil and Moutinho and sold Berba, Owen, Carrick, Gibson and Anderson?
And you genuinely believe that was viable?
Why not? Bigger changes have happened...
But no I don't legit think it was possible to get all 3 or realistically ever one of them I never really implied that either, but we still should of gotten maybe at least one of them, and with getting one of them leads to the sale of the whichever of the players I said.
Rubbish.
Admiring Özil and thinking he would improve our team immensely is nothing to do with muppetry, it has something to do with football knowledge and watching the Bundesliga closely. Muppetry is only thinking we are close to a deal when we are quite clearly not and when there is no sign whatsoever that he's close to a move to us.
As for his quality, you do not really believe that he wouldn't improve us, do you? He's absolute class, he's always been for Bremen and at United he would perfectly fit in. There's also a reason why we bid for him in 2008.
If we aren't interested in him, we are mad - it's as simple as that. The problem is that a transfer is not up to Fergie when Barca is in the running. You can't force a player to move to us against his will, and he himself has said for years that he's a Barcelona childhood fan. Even if they are not in for him, chances are that he'll rather stay at Bremen for one more season for several reasons than move to United.
I'm following this thread at 0430 in the morning from a Blackberry.
I am at 5am from an iPhone!
Well Fergie seems to think our midfield is good enough, and considering we missed out on the league by one point, I'm inclined to agree with him. Especially when you consider that at one point during the season we had first choice centre mids playing as defenders.
That story is based on the nonsense that Ozil's people have already denied.
people are going on as if ozil is some amazing player who is on par on messi. Hes not. An on form rooney shits all over ozil, and dare i say, an on form berba does to.
Rubbish.

Hearing reports coming out of Radio Bremen that the weather is 16.1 degrees.

They have? Do elaborate.

An on form Berba shits over 97% percent of the world's footballers.
You know a off-form Berbatov is probably better than 97% of the world's professional footballers considering what you seen is only like 0.5% or even less, so that's not really a flattering sentence
Yeah, but that was three hours ago. In the world of football transfers, much can happen at 01.30...raphael honigstein (honigstein) on Twitter
just spoke to sources close to Özil. they have no knowledge of a deal with Barca. about 3 hours ago via web
I guess he means that
Of course you are smart enough to understand that I am implying, when I say world footballers, those who are pretty known to us and that we can watch regularly. When we say that Messi is the best footballer in the world, we did not take him and compare him to every single one.
Anyway, Berbatov is definetly up there in terms of talent and when on-form can easily pretend to be in the top 10.
It's fairly obvious United are in for him after Fergie yesterday, no?Hard to believe there's a 100-page long thread, about a player that 95% of the people in here hadn't ever mentioned before the WC, and a player we've never once suggested we're interested in this summer.
At least the Benzema thread made sense...we were in fact interested in him.
This is just bizarre. It must be incredibly depressing in here?

(I'm new to this thread, so I assume that's been discussed to death already)
You do realise when this thread was started, right? And that we have been confirmed to have been in for him before he joined Bremen?Hard to believe there's a 100-page long thread, about a player that 95% of the people in here hadn't ever mentioned before the WC, and a player we've never once suggested we're interested in this summer.

I also realise I was one of the few people on this forum to talk about him before this World Cup, in this very thread.
He was hardly talked about before the WC, with the only time anyone from here (besides the few Germans) talked about him in any depth when he played in the u21s. And there were a few people who talked about him then, but not many.
So hows about you leave the snide comments to yourself eh?
The best we've seen of Berbatov so far in his career isn't even top 50 really so what makes you think he's a potential top 10 player?
What ?
Sorry but even the harshest of the critics towards Berba accept that he is a very talented players and you just have to watch his bursts of genius on the pitch to see that and I can assure that there aren't 10 strikers who have better first touch/vision/game awareness. His problem is that those bursts are not regular.
