I never said he was behind Mbappe, that’s a different debate. Obviously Mbappe has youth on his side. But he’s definitely behind Messi and Neymar as an all round footballer at this stage in his career.

Okay, I misunderstood the Mbappe part. The fact you think its "debatable" if Mbappe or Ronaldo is better (if that's what you meant) itself is a bit ridiculous to me.
Also, you are certainly in a minority of world football fans if you think Neymar is better than Ronaldo. That's hardly a debate and shows again the biases of certain Messi fans who underrate or don't understand how good Ronaldo is.
Yep. This is a discussion me and my friends have regularly over a beer or three. I would never argue that Ronaldo is the better footballer of the two but I do always say that I’d rather have Ronaldo in my team. One purpose for him. Goals. Numbers. Win. He’s the perfect athlete and I can’t help but respect him. That’s why for my he is the GOAT.
Judging by this thread he's not in the minority. There are many who have Neymar ahead of Ronaldo and even a few who have him as the best. Neymar is phenomenal.
Why is it not debatable as to whether Mbappe or Ronaldo is better right now? We’re not talking lifetime achievement awards here. Even if you say it’s Ronaldo, it’s still a debate.
I do think Neymar right now is a better all round player than Ronaldo. I don’t think it’s that controversial an opinion if you watched Neymar at the Copa America for example.
Messi has played 149 CL games in 17 seasons, which comes out to 8.76 games per season. CR has played 179 CL games in 19 seasons, which comes out to 9.42 games per season. So it's not just an issue of age.

Same thread has Lewondowski above Messi, Messi in fourth, Kane ahead of Ronaldo and so on. Any serious football fan knows that opinion is ridiculous. Neymar is phenomenal but Ronaldo is very clearly a superior player.
Once again, this is just shows the Messi fan bias of overrating value of dribbling and playmaking more than the normal fan. Which you can go do but it certainly clouds your judgement.

It’s not, and here’s why:
Messi is a playmaker and a goalscorer, Ronaldo is not at this present time and neither is Haaland.
Messi is still Ballon D’Or contender and Haaland is not at this present time. Neither are Ronaldo or Mbappe (in a serious sense)
Messi is 34, Ronaldo is almost 37 and does not get involved in build up play as much as Messi or as much as he used to.

The Messi lot has avoided this question but why are the likes of Adel Taraabt or Ricardo Queresma not better footballers than Micheal Carrick? Taraabt is a better dribbler than both.

Just that French league wasn’t much different for a farmers league than serie A when Ronaldo joined and ligue 1 has fared better in CL in recent years than serie A. None of that is disputable.

Depends on the metrics. You could easily argue that Lampard was twice the midfielder of both Iniesta and Xavi based on his goals and assist stats, yet if you actually watched them play you wouldn't doubt who was the greater footballer. The whole thing with Messi and Ronaldo is that they are equally great in goalscoring but Messi is a goat in playmaking and dribbling as well.

It’s a poor analogy, Carrick was a very skilled though conventional player and Taraabt has not been a consistent performer.
I rather have an excellent dribbler and playmaker player than a pure finisher. At least the first will create chances while the other needs chances to be created to score. I'm not saying this is the case of Ronaldo, but an example of what i would prefer in a player and why those types of players are more valuable.
