Not bad company to keep...

Saw a stat also earlier today, forget exactly what it is, but it's something like only brazilian Ronaldo and some PSV legend and Depay after this season have scored a certain amount of goals either in one season or total for PSV before their 21st birthdays. Think it was a whoscored article but they took it down now.

PSG can go away after they denied us Moura. Also Moura hasn't really developed much with them, should have come here back then.

It's right price too though. It's great to deal with dutch clubs, they sell their best talents and don't really start bidding wars with other clubs or at least it looks like that or I may not watch it watch the transfers from their league much but the words from their board are really fair

Cocu's colleague, PSV technical director Marcel Brands, said in a club statement:

"We are very proud to have completed this transfer, which has come in a huge momentum.

"Memphis has risen through all the ranks at PSV and has had a huge impact on winning the Dutch Eredivisie title this season. He is a worthy representative of our Academy and will make a great move to a wonderful club in a magnificent league. Sadly, we will say goodbye to a fantastic player and we will miss one of our key players, who has been of great value to the team, but we grant him this wonderful step.”

Hope he doesn't flop, he's potentially world beater but have no idea how good he will be in the first season. Preseason tour now eagerly awaited.. and I also hope that Januzaj will get his gametime and it pushes him even more, both players so different and great potential to start on wings next season..

Mata to rotate as no 10 and dimaria back in midfield too

“Up until about 48 hours ago he wasn’t going to go there [Manchester United],” Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan told Hawksbee and Jacobs. “There was a bigger chance he would go to PSG or Liverpool.

“We understand Liverpool were real serious contenders, because United weren’t involved. He had a strong favour for the Premier League and he was flattered by the interest from Liverpool. Bolo Zenden and Dirk Kuyt told him he would get playing time there and it would be a great set-up for him to develop.

“But what happened in the last 48 hours was Man United became aware of the fact PSG were prepared to go a long, long way financially [to sign him]. The money PSG are offering to players is, I understand, flabbergasting.

“But Man United attracts players much more than PSG, even though they’ve had a difficult one and a half years. PSG can lure them only with money.

“Depay had not heard that much from United. They wanted to be kept in the loop, but that was it, but then came the moment when he could be signing for someone else and then ‘bang’, there was a real forceful hand at Old Trafford and from that moment on they wanted to do it. And they did it.

“It just shows the determination they have to get things right for next season.”

Depay's signing feels like our Hazard/Moura/James (Monaco) moment, all extremely promising youngsters available at a fair price just waiting to be developed. Ecstatic we've got him.

On second thoughts I shouldn't be putting that much pressure on him already..

Brands (Technical director of PSV) says PSV already had an agreement with PSG, he thought Depay was heading there. 48 hours ago, United became concrete and now the deal is done and dusted, so Depay was probably waiting on United, just as nl Max said, choosing between United, PSG, Liverpool would be easy for Depay.

I will take all the credits for this transfer

I wanted to post yesterday he is ours and it is just a matter of time when we make a move. Clearly PSV contacted us that PSG is ready to complete the deal and we moved quickly. It was like Blind last year and i am suprised that PSG and Liverpool actually tried to do the deal because it was obvious that he will sign for us. I am confident there would be even more competition but everybody saw the obvious thing.

And the part of Memphis having face to face talk is even more funny when you put things in the perspective. He probably knew he will be a United player in few weeks and he meet with Rodgers. Trolling of the highest order. I just want to see what Memphis actually said to Rodgers.

Not sure if its been posted but here's 20 goals from this season from him in the league, including some insane 50 yard (im guessing) lob from inside his own half :wenger:

van Gaal sure loves his tatted lads doesn't he?

This is great news, I like him. But I can't understand how we can sign players when the transfer window hasn't opened yet.

We can sign players any time we want, the move itself just has to happen during the transfer window.

Apparently he has 27 goals in all comps this season, 2 games left to get to the 30 mark. Great numbers from a winger who just turned 21.

Yes, yes, YES! finally something to be positive about this week.

More top class signings like this please, no more squad players!

This is how it should be - 3/4 new signings joining us on 1st July. None of this hanging on until deadline day. Get them in and settled for the start of the season.

Where are you getting £20 million From? Bbc says 25 to 30 and sky says 25.

Yeah, that's what I've seen. Dutch press seem to be quoting a cheaper price. I'm inclined to believed the BBC though.

Great great signing, much more like the Fergie era of United, a great value signing early on in the summer.

Nobody mention Berbatov.

Yeah, that's what I've seen. Dutch press seem to be quoting a cheaper price. I'm inclined to believed the BBC though.

The person who broke the story today, Dutch PSV journalist Thijs Slegers, is saying 27.5 million euros + upto 4.5 million possible bonusses + sell on percentage for PSV. So including bonusses a max of £24m. He's basically the most reliable PSV media source there is.

From talksport:

What does the quote imply?

Eddy Woodward clearly not messing around, LVG will be very pleased.

What a world of difference there is already between our transfers this + last summer and the summer Moyes was here.

We actually look like a competent club.
