Young is starting for us every week. Depay could very easily find himself getting 40+ games here next season.

I'm not overly concerned re Depay and the possible Liverpool link.

In the worst case scenario that they actually buy him: the world and its gran knows Liverpool's problems run a whole lot deeper than the non-issues that Depay would seemingly solve for them. Him going there would just be a situation of too many cooks spoiling the broth, and if they buy him it's a minimum of 20m that could have been spent on sorting out their carwreck of a defence. With FFP concerns, while obviously not to the extent that they are for City, they nevertheless do have to negotiate it all the same; I just can't see them going for him. If he comes in, where would Ibe go? Considering they signed him up to a new contract in February and are already renegotiating the terms of it in time for the new season...

No matter which way I look at it, Depay should be a Utd player next season bar a late Bayern bid or PSG gazumping us.

Depth is good for United. Maybe not so much for Depay.

There is a case to be made for signing for a team like Wolfsburg, Liverpool or Spurs that assures you a greater chance of playing time when you're 21, signing a 4 year deal and looking to make your big move with a year to go when your team basically has to agree to sell you, as you're entering your peak at 24.
There's no guarantee that he will get a move again to a club with united's resources or under a manager with famed pedigree like van gaal.

Besides, the competition ahead of him in the wide places at United isn't all that. Young is playing well right now but he's just a decent player who will eventually make way for the better ones. His competition on the left is mainly Di Maria and young. The former will probably play in various positions anyway, and like I said, if you're a top talent, you shouldnt worry about Ashley Young.

Liverpool have been following him for over a year, they've made contact with his agent multiple times. They're after him and will do their best to get him. The only thing they could beat us on is guaranteed game time, but I doubt it.

Thijs Slegers reported PSG left a good impression on him, I think he would even prefer them over Liverpool.

In the end it's Memphis' decision though, van Gaal seems much more logical. He's currently visiting multiple clubs, this will at least give him the upper hand in negotiating wages. We have to wait and see where he ends up, I have a feeling it will be MUFC.

He favorited this a while ago..

Maybe we've been looking at that favorited tweet totally wrong. Maybe he is a Scouse fan and the thought of one of us topping himself pleases him. My God! He could be evil!

Won't be disappointed if he ends up at Liverpool. Doesn't look a special player from what I have seen of him.

I would rather Januzaj get the appearances that Depay will get if he signs.

He's a very special looking player. I would be gutted if he ends up anywhere else.

I'm not sure I'm ready for all this drama so long before the window is anywhere near opening.

Anyone who thinks we will make all of our signings in the first couple of weeks of the window is surely just deluding themselves. It'll be a normal summer, with one or two early signings and and one or two protracted ones. There'll be threads questioning whether Woodward's job should be on the line again by July (unless last summer gives him a repreive this year)

Why would he go to Liverpool with Rodgers and no CL over utd with LvG, CL and probably more cash?

Liverpool have probably bid bit can't see him choosing them for any reason.

Wow you guys have no bottle at all, first wind of trouble and your turn coating and heading for the hills!

He has clearly had meeting's with all potential suitors, both United and Liverpool. The journalists are now taking the same story and twisting it 5 different ways to sell the same story. Next week it'll be "Memphis never actually arrived in England on the private jet, it was transferred to Munich by air control and hijacked by Pep himself!"

No chance he goes to Liverpool ahead of us, they wont even be in the Champions League next year and can probably offer about 60-70% of the wages we're prepared to pay.

Unless LvG doesn't want Depay surely he's nailed on to sign for us.

or maybe we're being sarcastic.

The idea of Liverpool beating us to a transfer

The idea of Liverpool beating us to a transfer
Liverpool were more worse than us than they are now when they signed Suarez from Holland. Maybe Depay is being influenced by how his career has gone since joining Liverpool.

Unless of course, the meeting with the Liverpool reps was at our training ground! The EVIL! The pure unadulterated EVIL!

I can't see a thing on RAWK about them signing Depay. Plus, they don't even have a transfer window board up n' running.

That website is so poorly organized. I have to google thread topics to get to them directly FFS

The Dutch journalist on BBC Manchester on Wednesday said that he would talk to all clubs interested, including Liverpool and PSG, so this is probably to be expected.

He did also say that he'd still expect him to sign for us.

Just all part of the ups and downs of a transfer saga.

 RvP agent is at Carrington and it's linked to Memphis.

You can tell the season isn't far from over.

His signing for United is far from the sure thing people here keep saying it is. I could definitely see him signing for PSG or especially Bayern if they are after him. With both Robben and Ribery aging he could be embedded slowly in over the next year or two. I think United is a strong candidate to sign him, but definitely far from a sure thing. Anything can happen over the next few months, who knows? All we know for a fact is that there has been an enquiry, but not even an offer. I for one won't get excited over this one until I see it in the official Manchester uniteds webpage along with pictures.
