For £20 million it has to be worth a shot, could go either way though imo.

It would be a steal.
In today's market, you could only get Lalana for that price. Just imagine if we make Lalana as one of our main target to concur the world.

Liverpool been scouting him for a year apparently. Their scouts are frequently seen beside Depay's agent at matches too. May not be such an easy deal to make. Although if United get CL football that'll certainly help.

That doesn't matter. He's said he's only willing to move if a top club wants him and he has a strong relationship with van Gaal. He brought him at age 19 when he still had personal problems (wasn't 100% focussed on football) to the national team, he started performing much better after this.

If we want him, he's coming. The only reason he wouldn't come if is van Gaal doesn't want him. He's money-driven too, I doubt Liverpool will offer as much as we will.

Take that! @Woodenlung

I didn't mean to say that Liverpool aren't a topclub, if you look where he's coming from he probably sees them as one. I just meant that he's not shy of a challange and will not move to, lets say Swansea, so clubs of that stature can look further.

We are the definate favorites to get him since van Gaal has been such an important man in the progression of Memphis as a person and as a footballer. If we're not going after him he'd might move to Liverpool though (although he DID favorite a tweet saying: 'I'll kill myself if Memphis goes to Liverpool', so he might not see them as a topclub?)

Looks good today = lets sign him up.

Didn't shine today = Speed merchant in the weak Dutch league, do not want.

Still not up to his full speed either.

Yep, this is more of the Memphis Depay I know. Good first half, did his defensive duties and contributed in attack aswell. Lost the ball a couple of times, but overall his contribution has been good. You can see he likes to play with Willems (PSV's leftback) who's extremely attack minded. They link well.

Yeah much more like it and I don't consider this a good performance from him, involved in both goals, and a great shot saved. Not getting much of an overlap from willems though to give him options.

Ah but Lallana is English you know, there's a £20 million premium for English players, take that off and you get the players real worth.

Would love Depay to be fair, just making the point that he whilst he could well be the next Ronaldo, he could also be flattering to deceive in a inferior league.

The thing is LVG know how to get 20% more from players like Memphis. We shouldn't think too much while the player's price is still reasonable.

Is his black half playing today or his white half?

Showing hi defensive side and another shot saved

He obviously knows the game is on MUTV and is therefore trying to impress, done dealio I'd say.

Only seen him play a handful of games tbh but is having a great game tonight against Spain! Could be quite a good signing if there is any truth in this. Was linked with us in the summer so could just be the Dutch connection thing again!

Off he goes, MOTM and he' still not playing that great.

Great defensive display from him today, covered well for Willems. Forced Dave to make 2 saves and should've had an assist (Wijnaldum missed). Played well overall and he's coming here.

No question marks about that

How did Blind play?

Wrong topic, but Blind was good. Played CDM and intercepted well, linked up the play too. A couple of sloppy passes/losses of the ball but nothing major. Typical good Blind performance I'd say. Substituted after 73 minutes.

For me, he's the most exciting potential signing after Bale. Although I think he's a better fit to LvG's 'p' than the later.

Memphis #14? Could be Memphis #9 too, but I have this feeling Wilson, a new signing or maybe even RVP will take up that one. Memphis #9 would be nice though, I'd have no problems with that. It's going to be very exciting to see what happens this summer.

Anyway his tackle on Carvajal was great to see, especially since you probably still remember Memphis slipping against Abate in the Champions League play offs vs. Milan. His strength today was very impressive, and his willingness to help out the team is another good example of why your enthusiasm about Memphis is justified.

Good to hear, thanks for the constant updates @NL Max . You've got me quite excited about this lad!

#14 is more likely, he's not a striker. Van Gaal is adamant about numbers (remember Wilson changing from 47 to 49 because he's a 9?). RvP passed on that number because he didn't want supporters to have a wrong number on their old shirt. Maybe give 9 to Wilson or a new signing.

Yeah, his defensive side was really good today and he had to. Willems is known for being out of position alot (he's extremely attacking for a LB) and I've seen Memphis clear about 4-5 balls where Willems should've been. He usually steps up his defensive display against top-opposition, I think he just gets less defensive duties at PSV vs weaker opposition.

Wasn't egoistic at all either today! Rather took the safe option than lose the ball in a dangerous area, forced Dave into making a top save too.

You should be excited, if he doesn't get injured he's ours

00:41 was a clearance in the Netherlands' box, surely they would've scored otherwise.

The pass at the end led to a goal from Klaassen.

He had more highlights than this (should've had an assist and made de Gea save twice), but this was the first video I could find.
