Little, but a lot of the time players are doing things that that the general football fan doesnt notice. This is why every game there are posters suggesting Blind hasnt done much, but the stats show he won the ball a good amount for a player in his position and made a lot of accurate passes.
More than say, Michael Carrick, who gets all the praise Blind doesn't
People live by their repuations when you don't pay attention to the facts. Carrick's reputation is that he intercepts a lot with his reading of the game, but is a bit soft and doesnt make that many tackles but he also plays the most passes at United, being the main man to control the game.
In both 11/12 and 12/13 Carrick made more tackles than interceptions. Nobody adjusted their view of Carrick, the perception that he doesnt make many tackles but wins the ball with interceptions was still peddled out all over the place with people suggesting we need to buy a good tackler to put next to him.
These people watched the matches but werent aware of the fact that Carrick made plenty of tackles, because they felt like they know the player based on their earlier judgement and his extra efforts with tackling went unnoticed.
Its great to watch the matches, but you need to check your facts before you state your opinion as if it is the fact you didn't check. We're only human and we aren't there counting how many passes or tackles a player makes in a match. We're watching the whole football match, we're not scouting a player or reporting stats to a website. So we miss things, every single one of us. And thats why you should check to make sure you appreciate the good/bad things players are doing that you missed, because if you don't you won't have a good perspective and you might say something silly.
