We were linked with Brahimi at the weekend, he plays in pretty much the same position, so I wonder if we are hedging our bets.

If we are switching to a 433 or even a 4231 we need to sign more than one winger unless we are going to keep Valencia and Young.

There's still the possibility of Nani getting another shot. Young can play as an inside forward on the left, but Valencia I imagine would become a right-back more permanently.

Young, Adnan, Memphis, Nani would therefore be the options.

I see Di Maria as a winger as well. So him Depay, Januzaj to pick 2 out of 3 and if more than 1 is not available Young or Valencia or Nani or Lingard should be enough quality as 4th choice

There's a reason for this: Bale had already decided on Spurs over United.

With all this pulling power and being such an attractive club what have you's won in the last 2 decades? Have I missed something but no disrespect Glaston but players see Spurs as a stepping stone to a big club! Only Barca and Madrid are currently seen as a step up from United!

That's almost as laughable as Glaston arguing Spurs are as attractive as United.

I Mean as a club not team Barney. Certainly not Liverpool you could argue Bayern but it is debatable. Chelsea City PSG no not even close!

Seeing how Young changed the game when he came on, I think having Depay from that position would provide us with even more threat. He is just as quick, but has even more of a goal threat. Having Di Maria or Januzaj on the other flank would be lovely

... and Chelsea. Could also make a case for City and PSG. Champions League qualification would change the picture somewhat though.

Not City, they just ended a terrible run of games and no one cared.

I'm not sure he'd be high priority for us because Young has impressed under van Gaal, they're both right footed left wingers, right?

Young will have nothing to do with our interest in him. We will get him, I'm fairly sure of that. Mempis idolises Ronaldo, so with van Gaal being our manager on top of that, he'll probably see United as the ideal club to go to.

Depay is more of a forward than a winger. If Young is going to be the main person on the left for United then United's ambition for the next season is merely another CL qualification.

"Yes, I think he's going to leave PSV after this season," Cocu told Sport Express ahead of PSV's Europa League tie Zenit St Petersburg.

I read that he's started impressing as a striker. Is he playing on the wing at all? Maybe he'll be out new striker.

When I've seen him he starts wide for them on the left in a 433 type but he has license to roam around kinda like Bale at Spurs a few years ago, finds himself centrally fairly often.

No seriously, can you all shut the feck up about Bale and whatever. Note the thread title. If you want to indulge Glaston then bugger off to the FF.

He's a wide forward in a sort of 433. I imagine he could play the WC Robben role as well though.

Yeah it wasn't so long ago that the WHL faithful were booing Poch and the team off the pitch. A downturn in form and they'll start up again. Levy will then probably start meddling.

yup whoever leaves first

Just to be clear: the bet I'm agreeing to is ... leaves because they've been sacked. If they leave for some other reason - e.g. they've been poached by another club - then it doesn't count. OK?
