Sterling has been the only Liverpool player this season so far who can hold his head high and say he has been consistently good to excellent. Not sure peoples dislike of Liverpool isn't blinding them to the facts here. He is far and away their best player.

He's great but that's not true at all he's been largely inconsistent this season.

When liverpool have been terrible he has been merely good/decent on a few occasions. However on too many occasions they have been average and he has been the only guiding light for them, the fact that they have switched him to striker on occasions tells you all you need to know as they have clearly struggled most in that area compared to last season.

I disagree I'm afraid, he has been pretty consistent this season in a poor side.

I think he's showing great attitude by staying at PSV and being so good this season. He definitely could have forced a move in the summer, and since he stayed it could have been easy for him to go through the motions and bide his time until he got a bigger move to a club like Tottenham so I really like that he's still knuckled down and I hope that it is off the back of what LvG said. Would love to see him at United next season.

Sterling is performing very well in a top league. Depay cant be seen as same level until he does so.

English players immediately get shat on when discussed on the internet cos "hurr derp inglish meedya ovarayted da sun". Sterling was at the forefront of Liverpool's title charge last season, Depay's doing well in a league that's been dominated by legends such as Matija Kezman, Afonso Alves and Deadly Dirk Kuyt. People are entitled to their opinions and all that but its silly to make such an absolute statement in this case.

15 league games 11 goals.. Not bad.. Why haven't we bought him yet?

It'll take a fair sum, but you'd think LvG would know enough about him to pounce if he wanted him. I'd love him here based on the few times i've seen him, however dangerous an attitude that has proven when scouting in the Eredivisie...

Didn't Van Gaal recommended Depay to stay put at PSV for one more season? Or was that just paper talks last summer?

I think we (and more than a few other clubs) will be all over him in the summer.

He's a no brainer if we want to move towards a tactic that involves wingers. Would be useless for 352 and diamond, so maybe that was the reason we didn't go for him?

I'd rather get him than Bale, and I think we will.

bale would be the ultimate signing imo, but there are too much complications with the price and we doesn't want to involve de gea in any of potential deal. maybe in 2 or 3 years time real will be looking for a new toy boy then perhaps..

depay seems to be a more realistic signing. hope for once having a dutch manager meaning we will be able to sign perhaps dutch's best young player at this moment.

I love this lad. I also love his attitude. Something about him feels very much like a United player.

Can definitely see him coming in the summer. One of the best young players around and has a very bright future.

I'd rather we give adnan games

There is no reason why both cannot play.

In a 433, the two wide men could be Depay and Januzaj with Di Maria/Mata in midfield and Rooney/RVP up top.

Will give the philosophy a twitchy ass though

That is what id like to see.

---------------Di Maria
----Januzaj----Rooney----Depay

Did a quick twitter search and saw a lot of Spurs fans tweeting about him being linked to them. Not sure of sources but if we're not interested, it wouldn't shock me if they signed him.

???

Why not that ?

---------Rooney
Depay---Januzaj---Di Maria
I have Rooney up top too, in case it looks odd. Januzaj #10 and Di Maria wing could work but I think Di Maria would get isolated on the wing. I think he'd be better in the #10 being able to drop deep to pick up the ball and run with it.

Why not Di Maria in a 3-man midfield behind Depay, Rooney and Adnan
That's what I would go for.

--------------------Blind
----Strootman/Pogba----Di Maria

--------Januzaj----Rooney----Depay

I agree with both of you, i was just surprise to see an ideal formation with 3 players out 4, out of position.

I am actually surprised he's so highly rated. I don't know him very well but I thought he's far away from good enough for us.
He's got 4 assists. Is he playing as a striker?

If United go into next season with Depay, Rooney and Januzaj as their first choice front 3 I will be very worried.

Well not much really, WC plus a couple of YT vids. I always had that feeling that “we can do better than him”. Getting top class winger is very important for us mind you.

You serious?

Well, kinda, yeah. I think Bale's great, but I can't see him getting much better. Depay is only 20 and looks to me to have a higher ceiling. I think he'd be a better use of our resources, considering the figures quoted for Bale. I don't think he's worth more than 50m.
