Memphis Depay | Lyon player

Nothing to say we can't get 18m plus add-ons that amount to 25m....

Thats basically what we paid. I doubt we'll get that. Plus I doubt we will be paying much of the addons we agreed with PSV anyway.

16-18m I reckon we will get for him

Well I am thinking a loan could be the best. I think that he is a good player but he needs to play to get his confidence back. I think he will show that he is the same player he was at PSV on loan and in worst case his price would go up, in best case he could prove that he is still good enough for us.

Pretty pointless whichever way. I'll be surprised if he's still here by the end of the month either way but I agree with the above. I still think there's a player in there and like Zaha lost his way here. I think the club didn't help turning Depay into the pin up boy and giving him the number 7 shirt.

Not saying Zaha is now good enough either but he's significantly improved since leaving and would cost us double we paid for him if we bought him back.

So hoping he s going to misunderstand between Memphis and Marouane then end up taking both of them to Gerland

They don't play at Gerland any more. The Parc OL is at Decines-Charpieu, just outside Lyon.

Giving hype for signings on Twitter

he tweets a lot, he doesn't really hype up signings for the men team but he will do it for the women team. And he responds to tweets.

Snap their hands off for anything over 15m. Even 15,000,001 should get it done in all honesty.

It's very strange seeing us not being pushovers in selling players. If we do get the £20m for Memphis, along with the Schneiderlin sale, it'll end up us earning nearly the same amount from our sales of RvP, Nani, Kagawa, Chicharito, Berbatov and Evra.

I have never disliked a United player as much as this cnut.

Anyone with any intelligence would keep a reasonably low public profile when playing absolutely shite for over a year.

Not Memphis however he posts laughable boastful new years eve videos in his mansion.

Absolute cretin and to think Ashley Young a genuine honest player and person who has always given everything he has for the shirt has got more stick from the fans then this clown.

Worst player in terms of attitude and performances to play for United in the last 10 years.

Big fan of his I see.

I agree about his performances but I wouldn't get mad at someone for enjoying his life. What is he supposed to do, sulk all the time on social media? I'm sure some people would still find a way to criticize him for not training hard enough or looking like he's angling for a move. I don't really know much about him off the field so I'd reserve my judgment on his personal life.

Memphis has been here no time at all and if you think he doesn't get an unbelievable amount of abuse then you're insane.

When did i say that Memphis didn't get abuse? Maybe you should read posts properly before diagnosing people insane.

I was just agreeing with the bit about Ashley Young getting a lot of abuse despite being a top professional.

How dare a 22 year old have fun

It's a disgrace

According to that, I can't see United accepting, they will want a bare minimum 15m quid else they will look for bigger offers in the summer.
Keeping him for another 6 months will cost us £2.5m in wages, so that's likely a pointless thing to do.

Also, the guy we're trying to get more money for will have spent another 6 months barely playing and clearly being surplus to requirements, bringing his perceived value down further.

So you think his value will go up after another 6 months of not playing? And as said above, he'll cost us £2.5m in wages, so to make keeping him worthwhile we'd have to find a club willing to pay more than £2.5m on top of what Lyon are willing to pay. I fail to see any reason to keep him beyond this transfer window.

Already answered that earlier in the thread, probably on this very page.

Now we only need the clubs to get together, but it might take a while. Apparently the third offer is 17 million euro, but United is still expecting 20. Wondering if they'll keep asking 20, or eventually when the deadline comes closer they'll cave for less.

Still wanted to see Memphis at Everton, and wondering if Koeman is willing to pay that 20 million figure. Could be of course that United doesn't want to sell to a PL team, or that other people at Everton don't believe in Memphis, and are stopping the deal, because Koeman was quite clear that he really wanted him.

I would take 15m pounds +2-3m add ons and run. I am sure he will play well there, but he will only sit on the bench for us. If he proves himself again, he could make a slow step up to a better club in a few years again.

I hope we have that #7 a rightful owner next season

More of Best, Robson, Cantona, Beckham, Ronaldo

Less of Valencia, Owen, di Maria and Memphis (although I actually think Di Maria was the right player to have it at the time)

This will be done by the weekend I reckon, probably around the £17-18million mark which I'd take. I would wish him good luck, but he's been a bit of a non-entity for me. I've forgotten he was on our books at times. Complete washout of a signing and I don't expect him to ever become 'great'.
