Really is interesting to see him barely get a mention. I have to admit that he is just very solid and does the job, which is precisely want you want from a player in that role. Annoying that he didn't get a clean sheet today due to another set piece goal, but I don't put that down to him really. Seems more of an overall team issue. He's a good player in this position. He's not standing out for the bad reasons, so he must be doing ok or more than ok!

7 or 8/10 CB with leadership qualities and entering his prime. For the price, it's a good signing. Not every player we bring in will be the best player in the world at his position.

De Ligt played well today. But it’s interesting to see how Amorim will mostly play when Yoro is fully fit. 5 options for 3 positions (de Ligt, Maguire, Mazraoui, Martinez and Yoro).
The minute we signed him for some reason there’s been a subtle agenda against him. People might disagree but it has just felt like he was already a failure before he played a single game.
It’ll take him longer than others to get his flowers for that reason, but he just needs to keep going. I like him, a leader.

I'm not sure he's any physically stronger than Lindelof and Evans, who are both weak for CBs. Another poor performance with very little defending done
Bit disappointed. Think he’s he had some good games with us but in others he struggles to impose himself. Doesn’t commit horrible errors but doesn’t really command.
He's a bit like the 7th member of BTS. He's just kinda there. Doesn't do anything terribly well, doesn't make utterly horrendous mistakes. Doesn't really lead, isn't terribly vocal, and doesn't really command the space at the back. I'd still play him before all of our other centre backs though, because he seems like one of our lesser shit ones.

Isn't imposing , lacks leadership capabilities, isn't progressive with his passing or carrying the ball out from the back and seems mediocre in the air.

My issue mainly with him is he seems to be Maguire like but without the passing range and I’m not sure you can have 2 of those players in a back 3. Licha does huge amounts on the ball so there’s at least some trade off for his lack of height but De Ligt isn’t really excelling at anything. He’s still a good deal in my mind (basically is the price we should have paid for Maguire all those years ago).
