Didn't he indicate to Tottenham that he wanted to stay at Bayern just yesterday?
He gave Daniel Levy the ol' "it's not you, it's me" talk.

Rashford looked more pacey than Tel, but I think Tel would be more comfortable centrally. He might not be a back to goal type player, but if he can be a fox in the box I'd imagine Tel would be a big asset to any club. I wonder if he just hasn't had enough games there for Bayern because of Kane, we'll see how he fares here. The admittedly little I've seen of him he seemed to just follow similar positions and style to Rashford, so more a wide forward/wide poacher... But here's hoping. He's only 19 and obviously has big potential, but a loan for this season probably isn't doing too much to change our season in any way given where his current level is and what our squad lacks. We need a reliable goalscorer, he's not that. We need a top #10 or someone ready for that step, he's not that... Here's hoping that he makes a rapid jump though and was maybe just waiting to play in the CF position..
Wonder why Levy would fly there if they were not certain of him signing. There could be more to this story, likely another club might have expressed interest for the summer and Tel wanted to wait it out.He gave Daniel Levy the ol' "it's not you, it's me" talk.
Because Bayern had already accepted their offer, one of the rare cases where that happened before personal terms have been agreed with the player.Wonder why Levy would fly there if they were not certain of him signing.
I'm going to find this video now that is hilariousLike a jumping spider jumping into a bowlful of things jumping spiders jump in for, like flies or cornflakes, Mathys Tel can make the difference in United's season by playing as the 2 in a 4222 formation or as 1 of 2 in the 4 in a 531 formation.

Clubs usually do the reverse which avoids situations where you get egg on your face publicly with a rejection
Agree, for me he is the best ever player. A true phenom. His season at PSV and then following season at Barca are by far the 2 best seasons by a teenager in history. He scored close to 100 goals in those 2 seasons as a 17 and 18 year old. People do forget how good he was before his Knee Problems.
Well it seems Bruno is being played CM now. I’d personally move Amad to RWB and have Mainoo and Garnacho as 10s. Now that’s an attack minded team.If that is your front 3, where would you play Bruno and Kobie.
I agree that Bruno can play in CM but Amad is more effective as part of the front 3. Kobbie played well as a 10 so I would keep him there. That means Amad, Kobbie and Tel as the front 3 with Garnacho coming off the bench.Well it seems Bruno is being played CM now. I’d personally move Amad to RWB and have Mainoo and Garnacho as 10s. Why are they quality?Quality source. Encouraging to see we are giving it a go.
Ye I’d go with that. Garnacho always makes things happen of the bench so that could be a good threat from us late in games.I agree that Bruno can play in CM but Amad is more effective as part of the front 3. They have a blue tick so are verified. Why are they quality?
Martial was rapid and also a very good player in his younger years. The fact he is a young striker I kind of agree with though as it feels like we need a more experienced player to compliment Zirkzee and Hojlund.Think he looks like a faster Martial. Not the type of forward I'd want us to sign and another young one which would excuse him not doing much better than Hojlund and Zirkzee... Give me a striker who is in the right position in the box, in his prime years instead.

That being said if we do sign Tel it will be an exciting signing.
They've definitely got an inside track at United. Particularly when it comes to youth level, as the twitter handle would suggest. Why are they quality?
Anything to back that up?They've definitely got an inside track at United. Particularly when it comes to youth level, as the twitter handle would suggest.

Chido-Obi is definitely one. Usually first and reliable on many academy related incomings and news in general. As this is a first team matter, it's slightly different but I fully trust the source if they are putting their name to it.Anything to back that up?
There's absolutely nothing wrong with the potential fee. This club doesn't learn does it? Bayern paid less than half that amount for him, he hasn't done well there, isn't getting any minutes and yet we want to offer that much as the buy option. Contrast that to the fee Chelsea negotiated with us for Sancho.
Spurs had just agreed 50 mill. 45 mill for a top league young talent is about the going rate you would expect. This club doesn't learn does it? That's good to know, thanks!Chido-Obi is definitely one. Usually first and reliable on many academy related incomings and news in general. As this is a first team matter, it's slightly different but I fully trust the source if they are putting their name to it.
Spurs offered 60 I believeSpurs had just agreed 50 mill. 45 mill for a top league young talent is about the going rate you would expect.
I don't care what spurs bid, we paid £85m for Antony, that doesn't mean anything. He rejected spurs, so their offer doesn;t mean anything. He's clearly not been a hit at Bayern and yet we're looking to pay double what they paid for him. Any player of ours in the same boat, we sell at a huge loss.Spurs had just agreed 50 mill. 45 mill for a top league young talent is about the going rate you would expect.
That was in Euros.Spurs offered 60 I believe
That was in Euros.
I doubt that Bayern will agree to a pure buy option though. At the very least I expect them to demand some sort of buyback option.
I agree. And since he refused to sign a new contract (potentially) this makes nsot much sense. This club doesn't learn does it?
