Mathys Tel | on his way to SPURS. He’s going to Spurs lads. SPURS

Would take him on loan but slightly confused why we’d consider selling Garnacho (whether it’s because he didn’t fit in the system or financial) and bring this guy in. Rather we spent the money on Gyokeres in the summer

Haven't seen much of him so I'm not too sure if he's being brought in as a forward or an option for the left sided 10 - or depth for both?

I'm all for a loan with option to buy, especially with Rashford leaving. But I'd be hesistant on a permanent transfer / obligation to buy - think we need to focus on more proven options rather than another player with potential.

from what I've seen at Bayern, he's always felt more of striker to me, not a winger. I rate him. Would absolutely love a loan for the rest of the season.

Hope so as that’s the most obvious route into the team with Zirkzee and Hojlund not delivering.

Interesting despite the supposed U-turn yesterday after rejecting Spurs...

Always believed he'd be off if Arsenal or United came with a loan offer rather than stay on Bayerns bench for the rest of the season. He simply didn't want Spurs

Think us United fans have a tendency to overthink things sometimes. He's another option up front on loan, and looks a very good finisher, exactly what we're missing. Sign him the feck up.

What’s his hold up play like? Could it be him upfront with Garnacho and Amad behind. Now that’s a very exciting front 3

On the YouTube vids it looks like he plays more on the left. Gives Martial vibes when he was 19

Bayerns technical director just said that Tel is still undecided what he wants to do.

I’ve seen him play. I watch Bayern quite a bit. I’d be very hesitant buying him for the quoted fees. If people get frustrated with Garnacho, they’ll be even more frustrated with Tel.

He’s much more direct than Zirkzee or Hojlund. He plays more like a wide forward, dare I say similar to Rashford off the left. He can and has played as a striker but I wouldn’t think of him as a striker first and foremost. Likes to cut in off the left and shoot.

If it’s a loan, or outright permanent but we’re patient as a fanbase (Ha!), there is enough there to be excited about. He’s young and has room to grow.

Just please don’t expect him to come in and change our fortunes immediately. Don’t micro analyze every performance and rush to call him brainless.

Didn't he indicate to Tottenham that he wanted to stay at Bayern just yesterday?

they exclusively used him as a striker in his first season. They only started shifting him to the wing when they signed Kane.

I'm still baffled they never sent Tel on loan. Kane just always plays ... Tel would have benefited from playing 90 every week for another Bundesliga team for a year or two.

This kid is a baller and looks like the real deal. He will definitely strengthen our team in its current state. We should sign him on loan with an option to buy.

CF is my guess.
The admittedly little I've seen of him he seemed to just follow similar positions and style to Rashford, so more a wide forward/wide poacher... But here's hoping. He's only 19 and obviously has big potential, but a loan for this season probably isn't doing too much to change our season in any way given where his current level is and what our squad lacks. We need a reliable goalscorer, he's not that. We need a top #10 or someone ready for that step, he's not that... Here's hoping that he makes a rapid jump though and was maybe just waiting to play in the CF position..

Really don't think he's the profile we should be going for, as we're desperate for assured goals with two already young strikers looking hopeless at the moment. Happy to be proven wrong.

Not sure I thought the solution to our striker crisis would be a 19 year old, but hey I'm desperate and will try pretty much any alternative

Worse case with Rashford gone we save on PSR and he's a stop gap to help our season and make sure we can have cash spare for other targets in the summer

Seem almost nothing of this guy outside of the 3 min highlight vid that I just watched. Makes him look an all rounder who can dribble and create as well as finish with a good physical profile.

The last thing Utd need is another one dimensional forward so hopefully that impression is true.

Beggers can't be choosers in January (or February). If he lights it up, then we can sign him up permanently in the Summer. If not, then someone like Gyökeres or Osimhen will be targeted, I'd assume. To tell the truth, one of the latter two will likely be targeted regardless.

Haven't watched him as much as you, but yeah he does give me the rashford type of wide forward player, which is probably why we are looking for his like for like replacement. He has looked like a talent when I seen him play I remember that class goal he scored against us when we played Bayern away and thought I would love to see him in our team.

He can be frustrating but he's young enough to have those areas of his game polished and coached by Amorim and his team. Garnacho has already become more mature on the pitch with his decision making in a short space of time.

Yeah, going off the clips his game is very similar to Rashford's. He's a wide forward.

Think he would help us to beat low block teams with the dribbling and shooting ability he has.

I would prefer Dibling but this kid does clearly have talent.

Yeah seems like one of those players who need a 3-5-2 or old fashioned 4-4-2 type system as they aren't a lone striker, but also are not wingers. Kinda hoping we don't do this, though if it's just a loan it's not the worst thing that could happen. Just don't spunk a bunch of money on someone who doesn't fit
