Would be an exciting transfer if we could get it done

Rashford out and Tel in on loan would be ideal

If we sign him where would he play? CF? because I assume Garnacho's staying.
Yeah must be CF. Quite excited if that was the case purely because there's an alternative to hojlund and Zirkzee

Watched my fair share of Bayern games while he’s been there and every time I’ve seen him play he’s never stood out to me. Like others have said, he’s never looked natural in any of the positions he played whether up front or out wide.

I feel like he’s still living off a lot of the hype of going to Bayern as a wonder kid at 16/17.

It’s clear he’s a talented player and needs regular games and development to really show his potential. The issue for us is we need attackers that can score and create consistently now. I won’t say no to a loan with no obligation though.

Not loving these links or the latest one to Toure. I get the idea of paying for potential and on the whole that should be the strategy but it is painfully clear that we need a forward with a track record at this point, regardless of your stance on Hojlund and Zirkzee a proven striker is a must and if we can't get one in this window then don't blow the budget on a maybe. I can see this as a loan with an option but any permanent deal or obligation to buy at the figures being mentioned should be avoided.

I have the same opinion, I don't think he's the right player for us at this moment. And we're probably also not the right club for him at this moment either

So Ornstein says he rejected Spurs because he wants to stay at Bayern till the end of the season (?)

Its a very oddly written piece though. Its very clear from the language that this is what a source at Tottenham told him and that he's not getting it from Tel's agent or from Bayern.

Its coming from Ornstein yeah but Plettigol said the Tel could stay at Bayern, who has German sources.

Right. But "could stay" (Plettigol's claim) is a lot different than "will stay" (what somebody at Spurs seems to have told Ornstein).

Him staying at Bayern is a much better face saving outcome for Spurs and him coming to one of the others on loan.

After spending my lunch break Youtube scouting I am impressed. His pace and dribbling skills would be a very welcome addition if it happens.

Pretty funny that within a few days the Bayern hierarchy confirmed Tel wanted out, Levy went to Bayern to try and secure his signing, and Tel has subsequently u-turned and now wants to stay.

That's true.

Perhaps its just the polite rejection reason to Spurs that's being narrated.

To be honest I'm not massively invested in this one either way.

I don't believe Tel will be the short-term answer to our striker problems but likewise, I do think a loan move with no obligation at the end of it could be a solid piece of business. Essentially, this is because I view this season as something of a write-off and further, even if he's not the answer to our striker problems, I also don't think he'd be markedly worse than what we already have.

Mathys Tel has rejected Tottenham's offer. He prefers to stay at Bayern rather than join Spurs. It will be either Manchester United or Arsenal or he will stay at Bayern Chelsea, Aston Villa are no longer in the race
@RMCsport

Bringing him in on loan to replace Rashford wouldn't be the worst idea, hopefully we can include a decent optional buy clause in the deal too.
