Sure that's a really black and white view, but I can't paint a picture where Sir Alex having a hand in transfer deals is a good thing for the current manager.
If the United job is too big for one man to be doing now and our CEO (or vice chairman, or whatever he is called) isn't a football man, I don't see the problem or having a sort of director of football. Aye, I think there's a lot in it but they're damned if they do and they're damned if they don't. Imagine if they were pig headed enough to try and do it without using Fergie and Gill's special touch. They'd be blasted for it.
At the end of the day, there are no rules to Woodward's job. Being "assisted by your predecessor" isn't any sort of crime or stick to beat him with. Gill is still on board as a Director for that exact reason.

That's true. If SAF did it then it will get out there and it is fair enough people know about it. I guess I am saying I hope it turns out SAF had nothing to do with this and Moyes gets the credit for this himself - and deservedly - because he needs it.
