  I was thinking the same thing. Typical.

To be fair, have you seen the fee Chelsea want for Mount?
I’d prefer we hold our ground on it.
The more they sell, the less they’ll inevitably want for Mount. Their position will soon soften.

You think they'll say, oh we've got 100m from Saudi, we'll do you a deal on Mount?
Not how the likes of Chelsea work is it?

Whisper this or you'll wake up @UnitedSofa to start telling us they haven't been pictured in Arsenal or City shirts yet and we're moaning for no reason.
But weird. You do realise we can’t force players like Maguire, Fred and DDG to leave right? We need interested buyers to put in a bid…..

Kovacic, who I don't personally rate, is off to warm City's bench for £30m. If that's the precedent, Mount (who I also don't really rate but is probably somewhat more valuable in his position than Kovacic in his) is simply not worth more than £40m. We shouldn't be submitting second offers.

We'll be fine without back-up for Bruno for another year. Have a go at getting him on a free next summer. If in the meantime he re-signs with Chelsea, so be it. He's not all that special anyway, there are talented kids out there we'd get for that much or less (Arda Guler, anyone?) and we have the likes of Mainoo and Mejbri who might be staking a claim by then.

It feels like the deals Chelsea have managed to get done this week have taken away a lot of the leverage United thought they had in getting Mount for a cheaper fee. As usual, those in charge of recruitment and deals seem to have played their hand poorly.

This makes no sense.

I think it’ll be the opposite. Less pressure on us to take less than our valuation of him now.

By all accounts Poch wants to work with Mount. So if United don’t get near what the club wants for him we’ll just keep him and perhaps if he plays a big role in the team under Poch he’ll sign a new deal.

This is the least excited I think I’ve ever been for a transfer. With such a tight budget it’s odd that this is our priority.

We’ll sell by the end of this week I’d say.

Would people be happy with Mount if let's say we can offload DVB, McTominay and Fred and bring in Mount, Rabiot and another 6/8? For me that's what we should be aiming to do and, while we'd probably still need a proper playmaker, I think it'd leave us in very good stead in midfield for next season.

Losing a lot of trust in EtH, the Glazers aren't helping this situation either. Can foresee a very dire transfer window.

Will obviously be sorted at 50m+10m in add ons. Get in done before pre season and that's fine, good start in midfield.

Kovacic and Havertz on the brink of being sold. Meanwhile over at United..
Don't forget the chap joining from Adidas to head negotiations for us will be being taught by Matt Judge and John Murtough how to give our players away for pittance, whilst buying players for over inflated fees, must be giving him quite the headache.
