Everyone is the best something when they are not in the team apparently .

Pereira turned into Pirlo since the Brighton game aswell.
Well considering the shit served by Mourinho's trusted warrior Matic, people will call for a change, whether that's a 21 year old midfielder or whoever the feck is available. Shock horror we might get something new.

God forbid we get embarrassed while playing our young players, instead of getting embarrassed while playing the same under performing ''stars''.

Are you talking about the upcoming Liverpool gane

Good post.

Definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Also, the way to embed a culture of low standards is to reward low standards and fail to introduce competition.

Jose is doing all of the above and neglecting a deserving talent in Greenwood. He will be raw around the edges, but so is Dalot and his performances have not only improved us, but have brought a smile to most fans

It’s not good for the younger players to get embarrassed.

Why? Are we breading snowflakes? The ones that are good enough will fight their way through ''embarrassment''.

And it's fine if our overpriced, overpaid stars get embarrassed? It's not good for the club and its fans.

It’s funny because it’s the actual fans that turn on the players after building them up.

I think those types are generally 'fan boys' rather than fans. A lot of the criticism of Rashford and Lingaard is laughable as they are not the 2nd coming of Ronaldo or Charlton

Think he might well be the best academy player I've seen at this club, outstanding performance against a very strong team.

I don't watch youth games but this thread has the same type of comments that I had seen in Gomes and then Chong threads. Is Greenwood massively better?

Can't wait till we've a manager with the balls to give players like Greenwood who are thriving in the youths the chance to play for the first team, for all LVG's faults I respected the way he handled the young players.

Would it fecking hurt if we gave this kid a chance instead the shit being played from the likes of Lukaku and Lingard? I bet he would do better than both. Same goes for Gomes and Chong.

He’s a more talented footballer than Lukaku that’s for sure. Can’t be better than him at his age in the country.

I agree.

Even in the snoozefest during that time at least this part was something to look forward too. Now we even don't have that.

Hell Jose had Chong and Greenwood on bench 2/3 times while chasing a game now and he didn't throw them in even as a late sub.

Yes.
He will lose his form
Yeah. The more he is away from Mourinho the merrier. All he would be asked to do is backtrack and will probably lose all good aspects of his game which still are in developing phase.

His decision making in front of goal is just another level as if he has 5 different routes open to goal at all time and calmness and skill to chose the best one.

I want to keep him in the youth setup until Mourinho's gone. It'd be sat if he makes the jump to the seniors then Jose kills his self worth.

Haven't been this excited about an academy prospect in a long time. He just has the talent.

Yes. He genuinely is massively better. He's better than Morrison and Pogba were at that age.

His technique is fantastic, his acceleration is frightening (reminiscent of a young Giggs) his finishing is ice cool but the thing I like most is his work rate! Ran his bollocks off for 90 minutes today- surely Mourinho will at least be impressed by that!?!

Can't claim to be am expert on the youth team as some posters here can but he's, in my eyes, the biggest talent I've seen since Ravel Morrison.
He's like a two footed RVP, brilliant prospect.
For me it's:
Greenwood
Chong, Gomes, Laird

I dont think Jose was there

He's ridiculously good. He's incredibly mature for his age which is what helps him stand out. Gomes is every bit as good as him on the ball, in my opinion, but he's got more glaring disadvantages/weaknesses. For what it's worth, I think Gomes has become very underappreciated lately, he's still brilliant.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure Greenwood has any real weaknesses in his game, he's about as complete a striker you'll ever see, whether he translates that to the adult game remains to be seen but from what I can gather he's been dominating every level he's ever played at which bodes well.

Better footballer than Rashford and I'm a big fan of Rashy. We got a hell of a player on our hands here. Get the Portuguese Pulis out quick before he ruins him.

This is why it's so important for us to get the next managerial appointment right. We have some very good young players coming through! We can't afford to hire anymore dinasours going forward.

Yeah actually I think the fact he's equally comfortable on either foot means the defense don't know which way he's gonna go so naturally just back off and as you said his decision making is like a seasoned pro always seems to make the right decision.

I was impressed with his hold/link up play too the kid really has it all pace, touch, finishing, decision making and he even is decent in the air too, definitely something to brighten up our season and hope for the future as there is a lot of good young talent coming through our u23s and youth team.

My mate who’s a Chelsea fan got a warning earlier “watch out for the lad Greenwood” oh he knows about him now :D

The kid is absolute dynamite. The best youth team player I ever remember seeing for united so far. His consistency for his age is staggering.
